World Wide Stout is one of the world’s strongest dark beers. It is brewed using six different yeast strains over seven months and then aged for half a year. Dark, rich, roasty, and complex, World Wide Stout has more in common with a fine port than a can of cheap, mass-marketed beer (released in early winter with very limited availability).

Clear dark black color with a small to average, fizzy, fair lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is heavy malty, roasted, caramel, chocolate, moderate to heavy dark beer, raisin, prune, plum, moderate bourboun - alcohol. Flavor is heavy sweet and bitter with a long duration. Body is medium to full, texture is syrupy, carbonation is flat, finish feel is moderate alcoholic. [20090517]

A pitch black beer with a small dark brown disappearing head. The aroma is of rope, tar, alcohol, and raisins. The flavor is very sweet with strong notes of coffee and chocolate and hints of alcohol. It is very sweet - probably the 18% ABV, that does it. A wonderful beer.

(Bottle 35,5 cl) Black and opaque with a light brown head. Extremely powerful nose with lots of raisins and alcohol. Loads of roasted alcohol, lots of sweetness - as if the syrup floats down the walls of my glass. Extremely complex, extremely full-bodied. Like sipping Heaven. But only in small quantities please... 170705

12 fl oz bottle, trade with ygtbsm94. Pours black with a dense chocolate brown head. Alcohol and light roasted malt aroma. Sweet malty, solid roasted. Smoked into and before the finish. Wineous fruity note too. Clearly a complex brew. Quite sweet finish, with a mild smoke note.

Bottled, vintage 2003, 18,8% Opaque black, with no head whatsoever. Soft and pretty sweet smell (chocolate/toffee mix). Very "dense" taste of licorace and also a bit of chocolate. Even though the big alcohol%, I didn’t find any alcohol taste in this one, so the taste of alcohol is well-hidden.

Black. I mean black hole black. Vodka nose, but after that you forget that it is ridiculously strong. Tons of malt. Roasty and pappery flavour. Increadibly balanced. Hats off!

Black color. The head disappears quickly. Aroma of tar, caramel, roasted malt, roasted nuts; strong phenol and alcohol.
Strong dark caramel flavor, also one of the strongest phenolic beers I remember; tar, medium sweetness, Strong alcohol, liquorice, roasted nuts
Strong bitterness, but balanced in this powerful brew.
Very interesting classic example.

2007-02-10, vintage 2001 (with my deepest disappointment for buying it at New Beers Distributors as Vintage 2002); 5+ years old, 8-4-9-5-18=44
Black color; the head disappears quickly. Aroma of roasted malts, coffee, glue, in equal proportion; young wood; dark chocolate with high percentage cocoa. Strong mouthfeel, it flows to the sides of the mouth like a superfluid (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Superfluid); strong malt flavor, caramel, some molasses; it ends with a hint of rhubarb candies. It’s very sweet and the roasted malt doesn’t overwhelm the other flavors, extremely good!
