World Wide Stout is one of the world’s strongest dark beers. It is brewed using six different yeast strains over seven months and then aged for half a year. Dark, rich, roasty, and complex, World Wide Stout has more in common with a fine port than a can of cheap, mass-marketed beer (released in early winter with very limited availability).

ahhhhhhhhh...yes! color is perfectly opaque. and head is brown and lasting. aroma is chalky, mildly roasty and slightly alcoholic. flavor is sweet as can be, has an alcohol burn that isn’t totally overwhelming, with a lot of roastiness and sweet chalkiness coming through in the middle and the finish. This version is far and away better than that insane 2002 version, but as i type that, i’d really like to give that 2002 version a try now and see how it’s progressed.

Bottle courtesy of BeerandBlues2 at a blind Imperial Stout tasting at his house on 9/22/09. Color is black with low carbonation and a thin tan ring of a head. This brew has a lighter full body that goes down sharp with a sweet feel. Finish comes in sweet like coke syrup mixed with caramel then a touch of roasted malt. Overall its just way too sweet almost like candy beer. Of the 12 brews we had at this Imp. Stout tasting, this was by far the sweetest tasting.

14 months of aging. Green Cap. Pours is midnight black brown that looks thick and molasses like. Nose is sour, burnt, and roasted. Mouth feel is like liquid chocolate with a small fizzy burn on the end. Taste is caramel, vanilla, a dash of hops, chocolate and sugar. Its a really good beer that was much different than I expected.

Can smell the alcohol immediately after pouring it. Comes out like dark oil. Strong malt aroma. Thick molass, toffee, roasted flavor. There’s a good warming sensation when drinking. I’ve been waiting to try this beer for several months now, and it has not disappointed. A thoughtfully well-crafted brew.

The alcohol content is off the charts yet the beer is very drinkable. Dogfish should be very proud of this beer and its worth going out of your way to sample.

2004 bottle. Pour is pitch black with pretty small tan head. Dark fruit, smoke, and chocolate aroma. Sweet smokey flavor and dark fruit, chocolate, coffee, caramel, and of course a warm alcohol finish. Very warming and sticky mouthfeel. Excellent.

As dark as the fillings in Satans teeth, no head. A smouldering wine-port-cherry aroma with a BBQ oak flavour and a sweet sweet aftertaste, outrageously strong and outrageously delicious, thanks Irishboy!

This BIG beer was great. It was full like stouts are, nice and dark with good flavor that was not over-whelmed by the high (18%) alcohol. I had this t a taste night on tap. If you come acroos it, do youself a favor.
