World Wide Stout is one of the world’s strongest dark beers. It is brewed using six different yeast strains over seven months and then aged for half a year. Dark, rich, roasty, and complex, World Wide Stout has more in common with a fine port than a can of cheap, mass-marketed beer (released in early winter with very limited availability).

This beer is NOT for the quaint of heart. This beer is NOT for those warm sunny days on a distant sunny beach. This beer is NOT for beer noobs. This beer is NOT to be taken lightly. This beer IS pure genius. This beer IS the epitome of flavor. This beer IS what makes me fall in love all over again with beer. This beer IS a seriously damn tasty beverage that currently ranks at the top of my favorites of all time (not just in this category, but of all time period). Well done Dogfish, in my eyes you’ve made history with this one, and if you would like to send a case or two of it to me just for the public praise, and to see me shout out your name even more on other beer loving sites, I wouldn’t argue with your logic and would request that you contact me offline for my address.

On tap at Parry's. Wow. Big. Amazing stout. Poured out like 10w-30 thickness. Black as night. Thin, tan head. Smells of chocolate, coffee, and full of stouty goodness. Tastes of caramel, espresso, and pure excellence. One of my favorite new stouts. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

2014 release. Black pour with highly fizzy tan head. Aroma is chocolate and dark roasted malt with detectable booziness. Taste of chocolate and dark fruit followed by vanilla with a warming boozy finish. Pretty damn good.

On draught at a beer dinner with Sam at Abbot’s Cellar. This was a 2005 vintage served in 2014. Wow! Deep, rich, chocolate. Massively complex and the age has made the tastes blend well. What a great dinner and this beer was the coup de grace!!

Various vintages (vertical tasting). Summary notes below. Pours jet black, minimal and quickly dissipating head. Aroma is deep cocoa/chocolate, slight, muted coffee, molasses. Taste incorporates those elements, adds sweet caramel...like a Caramello bar to me for some reason. Overall, big and bold. Heavy on the palate. This is a sipper. Across vintages, you get more chocolate, more of the roasty/caramel notes. Great beer.

On tap 6oz pour. Pours a pitch black color with a thin tan head that leaves light lacing. Smells of roasted malt, boozy, chocolate, and dark fruit. Tasted the same. Mouthfeel is heavy and oily with good carbonation and a dry finish. This is one of my favorites. Its very strong yet at the same time relatively smooth. Its sneaks up on you so be aware of that when you drink it. Glad I was able to have it on tap.
