Commercial Description:
This listing encompasses: A) the November, 2001 release (18% abv), B) the November, 2003 U.S. (but not U.K.) release (18.8% abv), C) the November, 2004 release (18% abv), and D) the November 2005 release (17.8% abv) and E) all subsequent releases due both to their similarity in alcohol content and a lack of change in recipe. None of the releases' labels provides its abv, however:
November, 2001 release (18%) displays the unaltered words "Vim and Vigor" on the label, gold cap
November, 2003 U.S. release (18.8%). No "Vim and Vigor" present, gold cap ("Vim and Vigor" is crossed out only on the November, 2002 release (23%), which is not rated under this listing)
2004 - Bright yellow cap, no date stamp
2005 - Bright yellow cap, date stamp on bottle neck
2006 - Dark green cap
WorldWide Stout is one of the world's strongest dark beers. It is brewed using six different yeast strains over seven months and then aged for half a year. Dark, rich, roasty, and complex, World Wide Stout has more in common with a fine port than a can of cheap, mass-marketed beer (released in early winter with very limited availability).

2003 bottle, I think thanks to Brock_Landers. Damn this was good, and worth the wait. Also had a couple sips of a 2004 along side it. The ’03 has much more mellowed out, while the ’04 was a much bolder stout, it maintained a stronger coffee aroma and flavor to that of the sweet malty notes that the ’03 had. The alcohol wasn’t overpowering at all, just added a nice warming effect to the brew.

Pours black with a nutty brown head. Aroma is light, with a flutter of nuttiness. Flavor....wow. Full, sweet, rich, creamy. This is a powerful brew. Like eating a big slice of chocolate cake, or a super-rich desert. Blissful.

Bottle from Greenwood Gourmet Grocery in Crozet. Black pour, viscous and with minimal head. Intensely complex aroma... grain, coffee, oak, roasted malt, soy, caramel, alcohol. Taste is very similar but with a more pronounced fruitiness. Thick and full. Alcohol warmth is there, but this is very, very smooth for 18%. Damn good.

Had the 2004 version January 08. Poured nearly black, pretty much no head. Quite a range of flavors going on with this one. Nice malt with roasted coffee, caramel, raspberry or grapes. Not overly thick in the mouth, nice lingering finish that reminds you there’s some alcohol in there. Would not have guessed there was that much in this, nor would I have called this a RIS. Excellent however, the aging for 4 years I’m guessing helped even further.

Talk about boozy. Not a huge fan of port wine so this doesn’t resonate with me as much. Overall a pleasant beverage but overpoweringly strong to an imperial stout. Other present flavors are dominating by the ABV. Pour pitch dark with very little head. Mouthfeel is not as thick as I expected.

The 2004 which i recently tasted was an amazing result of aging. This was a dark, thick,traditional looking Stout that has alot going on . The most balanced and subdued stout that i have had which really stands up the the big boys. Difficult to explain other than the coffee, chocolate, roasty flavors are complimented by the yeast strains on the 2004 portfolio.
