World Wide Stout is one of the world’s strongest dark beers. It is brewed using six different yeast strains over seven months and then aged for half a year. Dark, rich, roasty, and complex, World Wide Stout has more in common with a fine port than a can of cheap, mass-marketed beer (released in early winter with very limited availability).

Thick and chewy, flavors of maple sugar, coffee, caramel, kahlua. Quite sweet. Hard to call this a beer with its abv so high. Perfect for rare occasions.

had this at a festival. i was expecting this to be overpowering but it wasnt, for 18%. opaque black with a little tan head. aroma of coffee, alcohol. nice full mouthfeel, and a huge amount of flavor. alcohol, some fruits (raisiny, etc), coffee, chocolate. I’m glad i finally tried this. tastes more like 10%, which I think is perfect for an IS.

I was very happy with this beer by Dogfish Head. Some of the strong beer that they have made is disappointing, but this one is great. Very thick and warming. It has a very roasted malt taste and a hint of chocolate. Well worth the $7.99 a bottle!

This is the world’s strongest dark ale. Upon pouring this 18% beer it seems an oil tanker has sprung a leak. A beer like this is to be enjoyed as you would a port allowing the flavor to envelop your mouth. This is hands down the greatest stout I have ever drank.

"Had the 2004, an abv of 23%. This is an amazing stout. Pours a dark color with almost no head. So smooth. had a nice burnt aftertaste. This one i will come back to anytime."

This stuff is great! Reminds me of bells expedition. No head, not too thick, but still thick. Tastes of vanilla, malty-ness, and tasty alcohol. My new personal favorite. Even for 7.99 a 12oz. bottle at Binny’s.

[bottle, dated 10/29/05] Pours a scary black color... dark brown head that diminishes down to a ring around the glass. Aroma is amazing and unique. Loads of roasted malts... some alcohol. One of the most complex and warming brews. Dark malts, almost some smoky flavor. Sweet sort of coffee/caramel. Oily, slippery feel. I love the way this looks in the glass. Eerie color, massive aroma and flavors. Easily drinkable and so complex. This is an amazing brew.

2003 Bottle. Pours coal black with a small, rocky, pinkish-light brown head. Nose is powerful and noted immediately after opening. Very vinous nose, like a port wine, raisins, figs, and prunes. Other notes of vanilla, molasses, deep choclate, and some very faint notes of roast, oak, and anise once the beer warms. Flavor is intense and very developing as the flavors linger in your mouth. It starts out very sweet and fruity noting vanilla and chocolate and molasses with some figs, plums, and maybe berries. Then the flavors move toward the more stoutish flavors as it dries out some, yet still being fairly sweet; notes of choclate and vanilla, oak, roast, anise, and a burnt flavor that is somewhat soothing to the sweetness. Finally after the flavors have melded in your mouth it finishes long and still mostly sweet with the dryness of the oak, roast, and the bitterness making a brief appearence along with a presense of alcohol, not ever overpowering. Body is medium to full, and has a soft to lively carbonation with a somewhat oily, maybe slightly syrupy, texture. Wow, maybe it is the aging , but truly an ’experience’ to drink, with so many dimensions to this beer, one can hardly find them all. Whatever the price, this one is worth at least a try, it is a beer that will change your outlook on the definition of an Imp. Stout and ’big’ beers in general. Truly a treat to any experienced beer drinker, regardless of your style preference. 2005 bottle in late 2007. Similar but a bit more carbonation and not quite as much oak and roasty notes, quite sweet. Still great and impressionable, just not as good as my last offering. 4.6 or 4.7.
