World Wide Stout is one of the world’s strongest dark beers. It is brewed using six different yeast strains over seven months and then aged for half a year. Dark, rich, roasty, and complex, World Wide Stout has more in common with a fine port than a can of cheap, mass-marketed beer (released in early winter with very limited availability).

A perennial favorite of mine when I can get it. While I’m pretty sure that I’ve had the 2002 as well, I know I’ve had several vintages of this entry. Chocolate and fruit in the nose along with alcohol. Thick as soup with chocolate fruit in the body as well. The last bottle I bought in MN had a fishy taste but subsequent bottles acquired in WI and CO have improved drastically.

My 100th rating. 12 oz bottle from a trade. No head dark black abyss like pour. Freaking amazing barley taste. Chocolate, molasses and expresso and very little alcohol flavor. The sticker on the bottle said $9.99, and I would definetly pay that to get this same buzz on 12 oz. WOW!!!!

Bottle. Dark black with small brown head. Aroma has chocolate, some alcohol, and a bunch of roasty malts. The taste is much smoother than I thought, didn’t taste the alcohol much. Lots of malt, thick and syrupy. This is great stuff. Too expensive to drink regularly but definitely a treat. Also got a good buzz by the end of the bottle.

Bottle. Saweeeet! No kidding. Heavy malt aromas of dark chocolate, black coffee and toastiness, a light perfumey hops note, and leather and earth for the yeast. Creamy brown head with excellent lacing, and pitch black in color. Flavor starts mightily sweet and a bit acidic, and finishes just as sweet and a little tart. Palate is full bodied, between oily and creamy with soft carbonation and a moderate alcohol finish. Best Imp. stout yet.

2004 bottle - Black with a small tan head. Aroma of dried fruits, alcohol, chocolate. Alcohol hidden. Dark fruits, malt, hints of chocolate. Wonderfully complex beer.

Wow... Dark black pour. Little head. Aroma of coffee, plums and chocolate. Thick creamy mouth with roasted malt, coffee and the slow warmth of alcohol. My wife says it smells and tastes like a french hookers ass....but what does she know! Thanks merlin48.

The bottle looks very good, although there’s not much information on it. The beer in the glass is deep black. Starts very sweet, turns then very dry and malty, also prickly. Notes of strong coffee. Warming and well balanced finish. Very good beer!

Appearance: Soda pop. Very thin, highly bubbly head falls away quickly. Pitch black and opaque. Smell: Chocolate and caramel with some woody vanilla overtones. Alcohol is present on the nose, but subdued. Taste: Huge roasted malt flavour, presenting mainly as bitter chocolate and charred coffee; some dried fruit and bourbon character. Sweet and bitter in perfect proportions. Sweetness falls away in the finish leaving vanilla, some piney hops, and maybe a bit of oak(?). Alcohol is noticeable, but not intrusive. Mouthfeel: Thick and creamy, medium carbonation. Finish is slightly oily from the alcohol. Drinkability: Huge beer, nicely done. Rich and complex, this is best sipped slowly; remember, there’s a lot of alcohol in there.
