World Wide Stout is one of the world’s strongest dark beers. It is brewed using six different yeast strains over seven months and then aged for half a year. Dark, rich, roasty, and complex, World Wide Stout has more in common with a fine port than a can of cheap, mass-marketed beer (released in early winter with very limited availability).

Bottle. 2004 release. The color is super black. Pour like used motor oil with little/no brown head. Aroma of dark chocolate, roast, and alcohol. Taste is way smoother than the 18% should allow. Powerful sweet malts with a bitter lasting finish. Roasy, milky, silky, oily...damn that’s good...and now I’m drunk. What up 300 beers rated!

Dark. Black. Strong. Yummy. Hides it alcohol well and I want more of this stuff. I’d say this is my favorite DFH beer and one of my top 3 Impy Stouts. Good for sharing or drinking the whole bottle yourself.

Oh, My. Wow. Had the pleasure of trying this and Dark Lord at the same time. Ecstasy. Pours opaque black with tan head. Complex nose of chocolate, cofffee, fruit, molasses, sugar, and more. The flavor is beyond my ability to do justice. This was fantastic. Thanks to Gasspasser and The Alcoholist for sharing.

Shared at a tasting with ratebeerians Ernest and Aubrey. Thanks Aubrey. The 2001 was much different than the 2003 I have grown accustomed to. With very little carbonation to start with, the aging took nearly all carbonation away and this poured with only a few brown bubbles. Black in the snifter, it was still beautiful. This changed a lot due to the cellaring. The sweetness was up a lot. As was the dark fruit notes, especially the flavor of burnt prunes. Other dark fruit notes were evident as well with hints of port wine, mollasses, chocolate, tar and coffee. The aging also eliminated all traces of the 18% alcohol and took away even the "hotness" down the throat. I really enjoyed this one.

Wow, this is a decievingly complex beer. As noted in other ratings, there is an aroma of chocolate and malts, with a hint of soy sauce and alcohol. Very dark beer that isn’t too thick. Has a good malty chocolate taste to it that is real sweet, it took me a few sips to get used to it. I was really surprised that at 18% the taste of alcohol that comes through on other high aloohol beers really isn’t a problem here. In fact the alcohol taste is well hidden and is really just a hint in the aftertaste. This is definetely a great beer.

Bottle shared with HogTownHarry. My 100th rating so I had to rate something special and this beer certainly qualifies! Especially appropriate since this beer has an overall of 100. Here goes: Pours black with an average to large light-brown head. Aroma of spices, sweet and roasted malts, alcohol, fruit, clove, coffee, chocolate and oh so much more. What an aroma! The flavour has everything I mentioned in the aroma and is quite complex yet so smooth. This is 18%? You’d never know it. This is up there with the Westvleterens and Rocheforts of the world. Spectacular!!

As a homebrewer, puzzled how they get this beer this high in alcohol, but not so sweet.....nice job, absolutely love this beer. Complex, black, thick and strong.....Great beer.

Poured a dark black with a few bubbles that resembled a head. Nice malty aroma with chocolate, coffee and spices.. Flavor followed suit with a blast of maltiness, dark roasted coffee and chocolate with some raisins and figs. At first taste there was no alcohol coming through!! How could that be this thing is 18%! I guess my taste buds were in shock from the greatness they had come in to contact with.. After a few drinks I could taste a medium brandy like alcohol taste.. Not overpowering but I could definitely tell it was there!... Very nice stout.. Thanks to Beerhandy for this one!!
