World Wide Stout is one of the world’s strongest dark beers. It is brewed using six different yeast strains over seven months and then aged for half a year. Dark, rich, roasty, and complex, World Wide Stout has more in common with a fine port than a can of cheap, mass-marketed beer (released in early winter with very limited availability).

Shared with Naka. Pours black with brown head, little and rimming. Smells of oaked scotch, vanilla, alcohol vapors. Raisin, plum, dates and chocolate. Tastes of raisin, chocolate and sweet cherries with some bourbon. solid.

Not like any other stout out there. Big dark fruits up front, very little coffee or chocolate. Alcohol is there, but, it’s warming and welcoming and will get you drunk. This is a sipper and a wonderful one at that. This is a brewday beer. To be honest this is the beer that sold me on the craft movement so many years ago. This is Dogfish’s flagship beer. Pours pitch black with a tenth of a finger off tan head that fades quickly. Lots of legs and little lacing. The aroma is more reminiscent of wine except the accents are grain not grape. The taste is where this beer accels. Forget coffee and chocolate, this beer wants to go somewhere else. The journey is blackberry, figs, and dark cherry ending with a tart/sour finish. The coffee/chocolate is there, but, its way in the background. The complexity is absurd and the flavor is unique. Try this beer.

Jeeeeeesus! It's strong! A dark beer with a luring aroma. Was a huge fan and will definitely be drinking again for (instead of) dessert.

Holy hell! This beer is strong! Pours a dark-as-night black. Aroma is very strong with booze, chocolate, some coffee and a roasted finish. Taste is very malty, then a wave of booze, finished by a smooth finish of chocolate, coffee and malt finish. The roasted barley is apparent on the palate as it warms in your mouth. Not a beer to be trifled with!

Pours black. Medium light brown head which lasts and leaves sticky lace down the glass . Aroma, dark roasty malty, alcohol gently singes the nostrils. Dark chocolate and coffee abound. Dried dark fruit rounds things out. Flavor matches. Roasty chocolate, dark fruit, Vinous. Big full luscious viscous body. Coats the mouth. A little sticky on the backend. Enveloping pleasant alcohol warmth the never gets close to hot. Remarkably balanced for a beer its size. This big beer strides rather than stomps. Sweet and roasty and smooth bitter through the finish. I like it. This beer is deserving of its renown. There is an 18% abv hidden in here! Masterful...

On tap at the Red Hot. Black with tan head. Scent is booze, dark fruits and a little chocolate. Taste is super boozy. A little rich chocolate. Alcohol lingers. Will be much better about a year from now.

2013 bottle pours black passes some light. Molasses, coffe, light nut. Very different than the chocolate malt bombs. Light body, no hint of the high abv

Bottle in 2010 Aroma - the nose contains a complex myriad of items: alcohol, roast, espresso, licorice, tobacco, and peat. Appearance - body color is black; the liquid is opaque; the head is beige and starts about 1/2", it quickly fades and rings out Taste - a lot going on in this complex brew ~ the overall flavor profile is filled with a lot of alcohol. Within, this brew has notes of dark roast, alcohol, tobacco, vinous dark fruit, some very rich espresso, peat, some very muscular barley, a touch of fig, licorice, and even deeper properties. Palate - body is medium, but approaching full; the texture is sticky, slick, thick, and oily all at once; the carbonation is average, but more toward soft; the finish is very bodacious the alcohol coats the front teeth, and evaporates around the gums. It has a slight tingly burn that warms the body, but also the mouth. Very rocking on the ABV here. This is one bodacious brew! Respect it.

2004 acquired from the brewery stash. A creamy stout that although has a high AVB it doesn't present a boozy taste on palate. One of the best stouts I've ever had. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
