3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
UPDATED: NOV 21, 2008 This beer poured somewhat thinner than I expected and had absolutely zero head which I was dissapointed with. It was slightly carbonated at first, just enough, and stayed consistant throughout. The aromas of chocolate, raisins, and roasted nuts were quite nice. The flavor was good, but I didn’t think it was as balanced as it could have been. There was an overlying sweetness that I didn’t exactly agree with, as it was actually cloying at times. The flavors though were very complex and delicious otherwise. The alcohol was definitley hidden well, for 18%. A sipping stout for sure.

(Dogfish Head World Wide Stout 2001/2003-Present (18%)) Bottle 355 ml at home, served into a snifter. Bottled 2013.
Totally black colour on the body, one finger of dark beige head, tthick and creamy, with very good retention. Medium lacing left on the glass.
Aroma has alcohol, soy sauce, light vanilla, prunes, dark fruits. The alcohol overpowers everything though.
Taste has lots of alcohol, sweet and boozy, port wine, molasses, prunes, dates, roasted matls on the finish, ash.
Medium thick body, good carbonation, warming feeling on the body from all the alcohol.
Good, needs another couple years probably.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
2010 bottle. Pours black as night with little to no head. Carbonation is fine though, and it tastes just like it should, super smooth. Plenty of black liquorice, caramel, chocolate and raisin. At 18%, it’s crazy how the booze are totally a non-factor, until you reach the end of the glass.
