2007 - Dark green cap, date stamp
2008 - Yellowish-green cap, date stamp
World Wide Stout is one of the world’s strongest dark beers. It is brewed using six different yeast strains over seven months and then aged for half a year. Dark, rich, roasty, and complex, World Wide Stout has more in common with a fine port than a can of cheap, mass-marketed beer (released in early winter with very limited availability).

UPDATED: NOV 21, 2008 This beer poured somewhat thinner than I expected and had absolutely zero head which I was dissapointed with. It was slightly carbonated at first, just enough, and stayed consistant throughout. The aromas of chocolate, raisins, and roasted nuts were quite nice. The flavor was good, but I didn’t think it was as balanced as it could have been. There was an overlying sweetness that I didn’t exactly agree with, as it was actually cloying at times. The flavors though were very complex and delicious otherwise. The alcohol was definitley hidden well, for 18%. A sipping stout for sure.

Refrigerated 12 oz. brown 2008 bottle poured into a snifter. Aroma is sweet dark roast, medium body, low carbonation, slightly syrupy texture, and small bubble lacing. Taste is sweet roasted malt, molasses, and some chocolate.

AWISLguy (1372) - Wisconsin, USA - OCT 26, 2014
Bottle from Steve’s in Fitchburg. 12/11/2013 bottle date, cellar aged 4 months. Pours cola colored with a tan head leaving streaky lacing. Aroma has rich roast, rum raisin, some grape and some molasses with a touch of chocolate. Taste is of initially soy sauce, chocolate, caramel, some teriyaki, definite alcohol, and some roast. Strong tangy alcohol presence. Rich, somewhat roasty, and alcoholly, with a tang of spices. Full bodied. Finishes tangy sweet, with some bitterness, but with alcohol. Take 7% out and the brew misses nothing, but stops the detraction the alcohol causes. 14.4

6y old bottle. Pitch black in the glass good head. A bit hard to smell, but a nice balanced sweet bitter tast. Roasted malts and chocolate. Like it. While warming the alcohol gets more in front.

12oz bottle, 2008 vintage, purchased ca. 2010, don’t remember where. Pours a deep, dark brown color with a tan head. Aroma is malty, licorice, coffee, chocolate. Heavy on the palate with creamy carbonation. Flavor is sweet, malty, toasty, coffee, licorice, raisin, a little boozy, maybe a hint of red wine, with a sweet, raisin finish. Still a little hot after 6 years, but still very nice.
