Definetly a sipping beer. Very dark with almost no head. A chocolate and coffe aroma. Strong alcohol flavor, good beer to try once.

Big time Booze but drinkable considering. Easily the biggest stout Iíve ever had. Felt like I drink a pint whiskey straight after this one. Gotta try it once.

Incredible sweet and boozy. Thin looking pour, fast fading head. Roasty malts and alcohol on the palate. Good, but tastes like a schanpps.

Bottle at Paulís tasting. Pours pitch black. Aroma is caramel, raisins, and alcohol. Taste is SWEET, easily the sweetest beer Iíve ever tasted, but somehow not terrible. Not a shred of bitterness, almost no roasted notes. Almost no carbonation. I would possibly sip on this again.

Location: Bottle at Paulís Blind Impy Stout Tasting, 1/5/13, Imperial Stout Rating #100

Aroma: The nose is really sugary and sweet, with some caramel, toffee, and chocolate as well
Appearance: The pour of this beer is brown-black in color with absolutely no head or lace
Flavor: The taste is also just super sweet, a little oxidation, and just more sweetness on sweetness
Palate: The body is on the thicker side, with less heat then expected, and a bunch of stickiness
Overall Impression: Thanks Paul! It was really cool to try this 10 year old bottle, and honestly was probably one of the highlights of the tasting for me, despite the fact that it was so sweet that it bordered on being hard to drink. Iím still really glad to have had a chance to try it.

Bottle at Paulís tasting. Huge thanks to Paul for busting this one out. Pours black and flat. Super sweet and sugary, with caramel candy, lighter roasted malts, and dark fruits. I actually really enjoyed this. I could knock it for being so damn sweet, but in small doses, I really like sweet beers like this.

Bottle at Paulís for the Blind Stout tasting. Pours a clear brown to black with no head. Oxidization and isopropyl, a touch fishy. Medium to thick bodied, super sweet, loads of caramel and sugar. Almost cloying at times, but thanks to the age itís not alll that boozy. Sweet cooca, toast, warm alcohol. Chocolate, cocoa, warm roast, lots of sweet caramel toffee.

Bottle. Black pour no head. Maple and sweet flavors not overwhelmingly alcohol flavored. Aroma is daunting.

Bottle. Shared by Bill with some friends at Franks. Pitch black pour with virtually no head. Not much lacing to note either. Aromas and taste of soy sauce, caramel, toffee, light peat, chocolate, and figs. Full bodied with minimal carbonation if any. Very sticky. Honestly this wasnt that bad, about 10x better then any other world wide stout from the last 8 or 9 years which I know, isnt saying much but still. I can count on one hand the amount of good beers I have had from this brewer and this would be one. Thanks for sharing Bill.
