Ouch, £6.99 a bottle. Its worth it, though. Thanks Safeway for importing it. This stout is pitch black and thick like oil. Aromas are the expected coffee and chocolate along with sultanas and some smokiness. Oddly, not much in the way of alcohol vapour. Flavours are rich chocolate, coffee with syrup. Sweet, but never sickly with a nice earthiness. Eventually there is a warming alcohol burn at the back of the throat. Difficult to drink at any speed which is a blessing. A real nightcap!

Sep 22, 2008 This beer is all killer no filler! The stout pours a black in color with a brown head.The nose is of a slight sweet caramel and glue, or some kind of cleaner. Taste is smokey, sweet, and slightly medicinal. All in All this beer is awesome!!!!

Jul 10, 2008 Wow, this is good. Dark fruits are all over the place in this one. Super dark, super flavor. The dog, again, liked ths one. Not overwhelming in the least.

May 25, 2008 Tried from bottle with Atlanta ratebeer crew at 5 Seasons North tasting. Lots of smokey oxidation of the good kind (no cardboard). Sweet malty. Caramel and molasses flavors abound. Dark color (of course). Mellowed and easy to drink. Delicious. Cocacola like aroma notes. The best WWS I’ve ever had. Excellent.

May 24, 2008 Pours an opaque black color with a light brown head. Aroma is soy, molasses, brown sugar, chocolate, roast, and just a hint of alcohol. Flavor is thick malty, molasses, caramel, brown sugar, and a sweet molasses finish. Hides the alcohol incredibly well.
