COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This listing encompasses the November, 2003 release for the U.K. and parts of Southern California only (21% abv), and may state "21% abv" on the label, while the printed phrase "Vim and Vigor" does not appear. Bottles purchased in Southern California will show a "Packaged in" mark on the side of the label that does not correspond to a marked year; this is likely the only discernible label difference between this beer and the 2003 18.8% version. "Vim and Vigor" is crossed out only on the November, 2002 release, which is not rated under this listing. World Wide Stout is a very dark beer brewed with a ridiculous amount of barley.

I had this beer a while back and from what I can remember I enjoyed it. I’ve had this at the pub/brewery so it was fresh. Nothing special about it is popping into my head at the moment.

Pours black as motor oil, minimal head that quickly vanished, never to be seen again. Boozy, dark fruit and coffee aromas. Dark chocolate and raisin flavors predominate, the alcohol is obviously there, but it’s not overpowering. Some carbonation in the mouthfeel, especially compared to the 23% 2002 (tasted side by side).

12oz bottle. I got this one in a trade a few years ago and I didn’t write down from who (so who ever you are, thank you!). Poured a dark, dark brown with an averaged sized off white head. Aromas of chocolate, roast, dark fruits, toasty, and wood. Tastes of chocolate, vanilla, dark fruits, molasses, brown sugar sweetness, and caramel. For 21%, well hidden. After shoveling nearly 30" of snow over 3+ hours, this hit the spot!

Bottle Pours out a dark brown we will call it black topped with a tiny head. Aroma was of sweetness brown sugar, rich malts and some roast. Taste much as the aroma but "DAMB it was still hot" Thanks Eric for this treat.

Thanks to Footbalm for sharing this. Very dark brown with nary a head. Just a single layer of microscopic bubbles. Lots a dark fruit, roasted malt and some vinous notes. A bit hot and sharp still but at 21% you can t get away from most of that. Smooth and warming, and I cant belienve I am saying this...balanced. Extreme at both ends, makes it so.

Bottle - Thanks a ton to footbalm, 1 for showing up before I left, and 2 for bringing this dandy...pours a viscous opaque dk brown with almost no head...aroma is dark and sweet, molassas, cocoa, roast and a bit of acid, maybe it was the alcohol, it was something with an edge...flavour is pretty much what you would expect, dark fruit, chocolate, roast with a smokey element to it as well...the one thing I didn’t expect was how well integrated the ABV was, noticable, but not detracting in the slightest...warming and mellow...a real treat!

Bottle - a huge thanks to Footbalm for this one. Pours a dark brown color with little to no head. The nose indicates the heat that lies ahead... Molasses and burnt sugars. The taste is rich with candied sugar, a heavy malt presence, caramel, molasses, dark fruit, and chocolate. What gets me is how insanely smooth it is. The 21% is warming, but blends in perfectly.
