Pours nice brown with frothy white head. Smells sweet and spicy. Taste rich, nutty, spicy, alcohol taste lingers. Unique aftertaste probably from the pecan/carob/plantain.

Tap during CBC. A nice subtle drinking beer, very dry for a smoked, bit of a nutty finish, some interesting flavors, all subtle, but hard to identify. Didn’t really do it for me but I wouldn’t turn a pint away.

Thanks to jjfoodie for sharing this bottle. The beer pours a reddish-amber color with a white head. The aroma is lots of orange and other citrus along with caramel malt and pecan smoke. The flavor is quite a bit of smoke with some pecans, oranges and caramel malt. Medium mouthfeel and medium carbonation.

750ml bottle shared thanks to Eric. Poured a medium and clear orangish/copper color with a small sized off white head. Aromas of nuts, some smokiness, and some fruitiness (bananas). Tastes of the same lighter smokiness, bananas, nuts, and caramel.

750ml bottle pours a translucent vibrant reddish amber with a medium creamy/bubbly off white head that left some lacing. Aroma of lightly smoked malt, woody notes, some light spicing, nuts, some light fruity notes and that classic DFH character most likely from the yeast strain. Flavor of this really smooth smoked maltiness, nuts, hints of brown sugar, raisins, and again that classic DFH yeast profile. This is a nice session ale (even for 6% and having smoked malt).
