750ml: Aroma is mild and sweet. Like apple cider. Copper in color. Medium tan head diminished. Clear. Sparkling. Flavor is heavily sweet. Honey, spice, rye malt notes. Full body. Syrupy. Medium length finish was a little dry and sweet. Average carbonation. Overall,
I agree with willblake that "Dogfish Head never ceases to amaze me with their wild experimentation...not many brewers could afford the risk of making something this off the wall." Interesting.

UPDATED: AUG 27, 2006 Poured an amber color with a small, off white head that left light lacing on the glass. Aroma of caramelly sweet malts, light spices, grainy rye, raisins, and nuts. Taste of more nuts, toffee and caramel malt, some light citrus in the background, and dark fruits as well. Chewy mouthfeel, alcohol was hidden.

This bottled brew from a bottle shop poured a medium sized head of finely sized tan colored bubbles that were mostly diminishing and left behind a transparent typically carbonated light brown colored body. The aroma was mild spice dough and malt hop. The mouth feel was weakly tingly at the start and at the finish. The yummy flavor contained notes of malt hops mild spice and rye. Delicious and one I would certainly buy again were it not retired :(

Bottle from the Michael Jackson Rare Beer Club. Bottled on 04/14/06. Copper pour with zilch in the head department. Nose is caramel, sweet malts, honey, and grape skins. Rather pleasant nose on this! Taste is more caramel, sweet malts, honey, ripe fruits, and light candyish notes. A bit too sweet taste-wise but still rather yummy. Body is sticky but medium with light carbonation. Finishes with more honey, ripened fruits, caramel, sweet malts, candy and soft alcohol notes. Pretty nice stuff!

This poured a clear dark amber color with a nice ruby tint. The aroma was sweet and fruity with caramel malt notes on the light side. The flavor matched the aroma. Good balnce to the flavor with the sweetness of the malt and the alcohol. Medium body and a moderatewly bitter finish.

RBSG 2007. Copper color with no head. Spicy and yeasty nose. The taste is kind of bizarre… almost vegetal with an emphasis on carrot. A finish that reminded me of bubble gum. Weird.

On tap at the Rehoboth brew pub location. Pours a hazy golden orange amber with an average off white fluffy head that retained and laced nicely. Aroma of a malty sweetness, cherry, strawberry, caramel and also a light hop presence. Flavor of tart cherry, ,citrus, some hop bitterness, nuts, caramel and a general malt sweetness. Alcohol well hidden...another great brew from DFH.

Thanks to JHop for bringing this rarity to the HW Open House - I didn’t find anything particularly special about this (aside from it rather difficult to pronounce name) - kind of like a doppelbock with tons of clover honey thrown in - a somewhat floral and spicy quality on the front of the tongue - nothing to rave about.
3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 ChainGangGuy (4120) - Marietta, Georgia, USA - SEP 2, 2007
Appearance: Pours a clear, deep amber body with a thin, fizzy white head.
Smell: Sweet, rich toffee and full notes of prunes. Slight hint of sherry.
Taste: Copious amounts of sugary sweetness with flavors of caramel and honey upfront. I’m not really getting much in the way of rye (or hops for that matter) More of the syrup-soaked prune and fig fruitiness. Slight sherry on the sweet, warming finish.
Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied. Medium carbonation. Syrupy mouthfeel.
Drinkability: A decisively sugary sweet beer, perhaps overly so.
