Amber, golden body and served in good condition. Sulphurous aroma and butterscotch tangy flavour.

Cask at NWAF 2009. A pale amber beer with a thin off-white head. The aroma has notes of malt and caramel. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt and caramel as well as lighter notes of citrus, leading to a dry and lightly bitter finish. OK, but nothing special.

Cask Handpump at the New Century Hall, Manchester (Upstairs Bar) 21/01/2009 Hop aroma. Golden coloured very hoppy and fruity pineapple flavour with a little bitterness in a crisp and dry malt finish.

Cask at the Manchester Winter Ales festival. Brownish with a thin head, reasonable lacing. Slightly watery but nice and drinkable and clean tasting. Slight hint of that linament (spelling?) stuff my mum used to make me rub on my legs before footy on a Saturday morning. Light bitterness. Not bad thanks.

Clear medium amber orange color with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white to white head. Aroma is moderate malty, caramel, fruity, exotic fruits, tofffe notes. Flavor is moderate sweet and light bitter with a average to long duration. Body is medium, texture is watery to oily, carbonation is soft to flat. [20090123]

A Mes rate. Gravicask at National Winter Ale festival. Mid brown with a beige film. Lovely spicy nose with some nice fruit cake notes. Similar flavour with some hints of germoline and some odd floral notes. It works pretty well actually. Pleasant clean finish. Not bad.

The crown, Nuneaton. Misty straw pint. Citrussy hops, soapy satsuma, a gnaw of pencilly oats. Alright but nothing more.

Bottle. It was hard going drinking this one. Massive head that exploded on pouing.Slightly cloudy with a sourness that made it difficult to drink. This is one of the reasons why people drink Euro Fizz!

Cask@St Albans BF. Malts are butterscotchy and a bit on the grainy side, some citrus tang in the finish, but not much.

Unlike Joeh, I thought this beer was pretty reasonable. Sure there’s some less than impressive, slightly flabby, pale malt on the palate, but I wonder whether that was down to the condition of the beer. There was a lot of tangy, resiny hop in the aroma and that came through on the palate too. Perhaps a bit US in accent. Cask (gravity dispense), St Albans Beer Festival.
