COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
BrewMaster’s Series #1 - The BrewMaster’s Series is a limited edition series where each beer is crafted by one of our brewers. Every batch in the series is unique and reflects the brewer’s imagination, creativity, and passion for beer. Enjoy. Youngblood’s Imperial Porter is brewed with a wide variety of malted barley and has a rounded chocolate character from the roasted grains. I wanted to explore using many different malts. It’s not for the faint of heart.

Opaque body with tan head. roasted malt aroma and flavors abound within a rich malty body. Light sweet finish. One of Dogwood’s best.

22 oz. bottle from TheBeerSommelier- thanks again, Matt! I think this was a 2004 vintage. Pours an opaque brown with no head. The aroma has some initial metallic notes, but beyond that is tobacco, charred wood, cola, and a lot of dark chocolate. Flavor of roasted malts, cola, charred wood, dark chocolate, and molasses. Nice. Light-medium bodied, with low carbonation and a smooth, roasty mouthfeel. Not bad at all; I can vouch that STLWill liked it a lot, too.

Bottle as shown. Pours a dark brown with a small quickly diminishing tan head. The aroma is roasted malt and chocolate. Thin mouthfeel with a smoke and vanilla. Easy to drink a good Baltic porter.

2/25/12. Bottle shared during RBWG 2012 by Walt. Very dark brown pour with a small brown head. Dusty chocolate aroma with a touch of oxidation (reminds of an old ale a bit). Sweet chocolate entry with lingering bitter roastiness.

Black muddy body. Brown creamy head. Quite nice aroma of chocolate, coffee and some caramalts: not overwhelming, but interesting aroma. Moderately sweet, lightly bitter flavour: well balanced, nice complexity.

Older bottle thanks to cquiroga. Pours with a black body and a lasting deep brown head. Good lace. Aromas are very vinous and estery, big fig notes, brown sugar, plum, dark fruit, roast, fudge and milk chocolate. Flavors are somewhat oxidized. Roast, vanilla, lots of raisin notes, dark fruits, fig and milk chocolate. On the sweeter side of things. Creamy, mellow and light oxidation. Low carbonation. Good, but was probably better a few years ago.

Süßlicher, stark malziger Antrunk mit leichten, kaum erkennbaren hefenoten. Weiter sehr aromatisch malzig, vollmundig, zum Ende auch etwas scharf, dafür aber untypischerweise kein bisschen bitte. Gelungenes aromatisches Bier! 12/12/10/12/11/12

22oz bottle pours an oily, opaque black with a thin, tan head. Nose of molasses, a little oxidized, raisins, coffee liqueur. Flavor is sweet, brown sugar, molasses, light coffee, thinning coffee, toasted bread. Medium bodied, dry finish. Starting to fade out a bit.

Thanks to daknole. Bottle pours deep brown with a khaki head. Aroma shows some oxidation as well as notes of roasted malt, coffee, and chocolate. Flavor shows basically the same, and the slight oxidation is working. Overall body is moderate to full and somewhat sweet. I would have loved to see this in it’s prime.

Bottle thanks to springslicker. What a great guy! Super dark brown with a rich tan head. Aroma is a bit metallic but has lots of coffee, chocolate, roast. Flavor is awesome. Roast, chocolate, prunes, hops. Good!

22 oz. bottle shared by shigadeyo. Pours very dark brown almost black with a small disappearing soapy beige head. The aroma was sweet malts, chocolate, ripe dark fruits and a touch of espresso. The flavor had a big roasted quality that borders on char that lingers into a general bitterness toward the finish. The ripe dark fruits, chocolate, espresso and hints of oxidation all blend well with this beer. There are no signs of alcohol at all. Creamy smooth. For being 6+ years old, this has held up extremely well.
