2.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20 Geiserich (2337) - Vienna, - AUG 31, 2005
Draught at the brewpub Light golden, hazy color. Creamy white head. Velevety texture, malty, light sweet and light grainy flavor. A bit unpleasant in the end. Quite overall and boring.
3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20 heavy (1490) - Split, CROATIA - JAN 7, 2008
03/01 Draught at the brewpub. Poured murky golden body with medium white head. Sourish unpasteurized aroma, with nice fruitiness (citrus, orange, honey), very pleasant. Flavor is sweetish, quite tasty and nice although thin bodied. Long, nice fruity finish. Quite heavenly after those boring pale lagers and beer like things those days!
3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 13/20 Rastacouere (5921) - Montréal, Quebec, CANADA - AUG 11, 2007
Extremely foamy, soft cloudy pale gold. Rounded malt flavours, fully cerealic, fresh and not too sweet. Sandy hop nuances capture the finish while floral notes and limited bitterness are unagressive and softly caressing. Terrific mouthfeel, rich, foamy, refreshing. Excellent example!
3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 Marko (3115) - Split, CROATIA - JAN 8, 2007
0.5l, 5.2%, bottle conditioned (huge amount of yeast in the bottom of the bottle), 8 days after it "expired". Interesting. Poured a hazy light apricot colour, big thick white head that went at a medium pace. The nose is distinctly yeasty (not terribly pleasant) with faint notes of hops. A nice hoppiness, a pleasant maltiness (honey-like maybe) and a stale, unimpressive yeastiness that kinda ruins all that. Some lemoniness and a fine mouthfeel. Tastes light, feels heavy on the stomach. Odd, I know. Didn’t impress me much. This isn’t fresh (and this style seems to benefit from that), and I’ll definitely try it draught next time. It shows promise, but I didn’t like it nearly as much as the bottled Dunkel (and that was almost a month past its expiry date).
