COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Dominion Ale is brewed in an English style with American Two-Row Pale, Caramel, and Black malts. We use Perle, Willamette, and Mount Hood hops from the Pacific Northwest and English Kent Golding Hops. We ferment our ale with a traditional American yeast in the German Kolsch style - warm, fast fermentation followed by a slow maturation. Dominion Ale is malty with an assertive hop character dominated by the Kent Golding. It is crystal clear amber colored with medium body. Widely available in bottles and on draft, often as a house brand name.

This basically bites. Unneccesarily sweet and otherwise bland, undercarbonated, hop challenged brew that I wouldn’t have liked much better even if it had been two bucks less for a sixer. Is this an amber or and English? Can’t quite decide. I can tell you I certainly won’t buy this again. Disappointing.

On tap as Chadwicks Amber: A horrible restaurant, but a decent beer, with a decent beer special on my first trip to DC area. The beer was somewhat nonoffensive tasty, just not anything special in any way shape or form.

Smell of hops, malt, and a touch of honey. Taste of malt, sweet hops, hint of caramel and a great bitterness to finish it off. Very good ale.

Light amber in color with a small white head that quickly disapates. Bready, earthy/spicy bitterness.

Nothing special. Another bland ale. It’s got no horrible qualities, but nothing that makes it stick out in a crowd. Ruddy coloring, small head. A nice enough brew, but usually not the best available.

Dogbrick (4522) - Columbus, Ohio, USA - JUN 20, 2006
On draught at the Foggy Bottom Brewpub in Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport (at 9 AM). Pours clear reddish-amber with a compact beige head with good staying power. Thin and quick lacing. The aroma consists of roasted malt and nuts. Medium-bodied with a steady sweetness throughout. Malt, caramel and mild hops flavors are all present. The finish is roasty and sweet with a nutty finish. Not something I would go out of my way for but it was a sight for sore eyes after a bad night/morning of delayed flights and itinerary changes.

whaleman (2175) - North Wales, Pennsylvania, USA - JUN 18, 2006
Golden-amber body with a medium, uniform, off-white head. Pleasant esters and fruity malt aroma with berry tones plus elements of tea, light toast, and soft caramel. Flavor is slightly grainy with moderate sweetness and bitterness. Some fruitiness lends a refreshing quality. A decent, English-style pale ale.

Poured from a 12oz bottle amber in color with a small beige head. Aroma was of light caramel malts and large quantity of hops. Flavor was mild and somewhat hoppy.
