COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Dominion Ale is brewed in an English style with American Two-Row Pale, Caramel, and Black malts. We use Perle, Willamette, and Mount Hood hops from the Pacific Northwest and English Kent Golding Hops. We ferment our ale with a traditional American yeast in the German Kolsch style - warm, fast fermentation followed by a slow maturation. Dominion Ale is malty with an assertive hop character dominated by the Kent Golding. It is crystal clear amber colored with medium body. Widely available in bottles and on draft, often as a house brand name.

12 oz. bottle from a sampler. Bottled 071808. Reddish brown pour with a minimal head that disappears almost immediately. Nutty aroma with hints of caramel and hops. Taste is nutty, slightly bitter with some fruity notes in the finish.

On tap at Dulles while waiting for a flight. Small off-white head that diminished quickly and left a little lacing. Hazy amber/orange color. Moderate malt aromas offset by the slightest hops and some light doughy yeast. Unremarkable taste of slightly sweet malts with a bitter finish. Medium bodied, somwhat oily texture with a rather unpleasant matallic finish. Everything about this beer is "slightly". The Yuengling was better.

Amber color with a thick white head. Some caramel and apple juice in the aroma. Nice malty ale with a decent hop bitterness at the finish. Easy to drink and without flaws but not very exciting.

ChainGangGuy (3682) - Canton, Georgia, USA - APR 21, 2008
Appearance: Clear, copper body sporting a very thin white head. Smell: Very basic grainy pale malt aroma and little else. Sheesh. Taste: Some pale malts with a subtle sweetness and a hint of grain followed by a medium hop bitterness. That’s it. So painfully average you can’t help but feel a little sorry for it. Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied. Medium carbontion. Drinkability: No. This beer shows the depth and charm of a homebrewer’s first half-hearted attempt at the style, maybe a lil’ less. Even if what you’re looking for is a session-type beer, there are many far better choices out there.
