Bottle. Gold body with a short white head. Sweet aroma with honey notes, grassy and floral hops, soft grains and light citrus. Taste is grainy with more soft honey notes, grassy hops, lighter floral notes, biscuit, sweet malt, and light lemony flavors. Body is medium with a full, bubbly carbonation. Finishes with more grains, floral hops, grassy hops, biscuit, honey-lemon and malt.

Pours a clear straw yellow color with a white soapy head. Aroma of grain, lemon, and a bit of hops. Sweet malt, lemon, and hop flavor with some pilsner-like grain. Decent for the style.

12oz bottle: Pours a clear bright golden with a stringy-lacing froth of white head. Has a clean lightly sweet pale malty nose with a fresh Saaz hoppy nose. Starts with a nice light pale malty sweetness and a good clean bitter balance before a crisp bittersweet finish. A true to style, refreshing and very drinkable pilsener.

Tap at Ramshead Tavern in Annapolis. The pour is a clear gold with a scant, off-white head. Scant lace. The nose is pretty much completely absent- mild lemon and citrus and bread. But really there is almost no way to coax an aroma of this one. What to give a non existent aroma? 5? Taste is actually very nice- loads of American hops give a fruity kumquat and orange peel taste. Bitter, brighter, and fruity notes gives this more of an IPA body than pilsener, which is a style typically grassy, sharp, refreshing, light, crisp. This is heavier, citrusy, kumquat heavy and dense. Suddy mouthfeel detracts along with heavy biscuit and moderate diacetyl.

Hazy gold with thicker than average white head and soapy lacing. Aroma has lots of lemony hops. Flavor is unique and more complex than I expected. Lemons, spice, and a bitter perfumey finish.

Holdwine (1075) - Beertimore, Maryland, USA - JUL 24, 2010
Bottle, slightly above average hoppy pils. Nothing wonderful, but enough citru notes and a decent hopped finsih makes this one very drinkable especially in today’s 96 degree weather.

ROGUE (2085) - Newark, Delaware, USA - JUL 15, 2010
12oz bottle. Pours a clear pale golden color with a large, fizzy white head that dissipates slowly and leaves nice lacing. Smell is bready with hints of citrus and spices. Taste a strong, hop bitterness up front. The hop flavors remain and the beer gains grain flavor with hints of citrus and cloves. Mouthfeel is crisp, clean, and refreshing with a pleasing, dry finish.
