Don’t be fooled by Candi’s golden appearance. This Belgian Tripel may taste of sugar and spice, but her beguiling introduction is far from nice, flirting with a covert 9.5% ABV. Saaz and Halltertau hops provide a clean, floral aroma with minimal hop bitterness and the soft sweetness of apricot and pear lingers nicely against a dry finish.

On tap half pint at Gilly's Beer & Fine Wine in Rockville, MD. Hazy, straw color with no apparent head or lacing. Aroma of cloves, coriander, apricot, apple, caramel, banana and sweet cherries. Taste of cloves, spices, apricots, banana, caramel and orange. Medium body and medium/high carbonation. Sweeter and spicier than a typical tripel, but still an interesting and tasty beer. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

bottle. hazy pale golden with small head. this is otherwise a fairly solid tripel, but it’s way oversweet and a bit too boozy. nice yeasty nature and light hops. back the sweetness down considerably, and this would be quite excellent.

12 ounce bottle from Midtowne Bottle Shop, Harrisonburg. Pours a hazy yellow color with a medium sized frothy white head. Good head retention. Aroma of candi sugar, appropriately enough, pale malt, caramel, bread, banana, mild booze. The taste is bready malt, candi sugar, bread, banana, spicy hops. Medium bodied, slight lingering spice, slight warming alcohol. Solid.

Bottle. Medium golden in color - cloudy. Malty, slightly spicy aroma. Sweet and spicy flavor with some bitter aftertaste. Does not taste as strong as it is.

The way a tripel should taste if meant to be sweet. Had sweet aroma. Deep orange yellow color. Carmel flavor some bitter but more sugar. Malt is subtle

Hmm, the first 3/4 of this beer experience is fine & dandy but what is that in the finish? The aroma is nice with some Belgian spices standing out. The pour is transparent gold w/ a thin white head that leaves spotty lacing. The taste is lightly spiced upfront but finishes w/ a sudden harshness. It’s not hops & it’s not good! Completely brings this beer down! Disappointing to say the least!

Deep amber color with a short head that fades fast. Strong malty aroma with cherry in the background. Taste is sweet malt with a slick finish. Leaves a malty aftertaste. Not bad overall. Certainly enjoyable!

I like the big boobs but the flavor is just not even close to a tripel. Way too sweet and too much belgian candy used. Im sure that was the intent but poor execution.
