COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Donít be fooled by Candiís golden appearance. This Belgian Tripel may taste of sugar and spice, but her beguiling introduction is far from nice, flirting with a covert 9.5% ABV. Saaz and Halltertau hops provide a clean, floral aroma with minimal hop bitterness and the soft sweetness of apricot and pear lingers nicely against a dry finish.

Deep amber color with a short head that fades fast. Strong malty aroma with cherry in the background. Taste is sweet malt with a slick finish. Leaves a malty aftertaste. Not bad overall. Certainly enjoyable!

I like the big boobs but the flavor is just not even close to a tripel. Way too sweet and too much belgian candy used. Im sure that was the intent but poor execution.

An overly sweet offering, way too much candy sugar. Some banana and cloves, but mostly sugar.

12oz bottle...pours w/slight head, mildly hazy, orange-ish colour. Lots of fruit on nose...apricot? Goes down smoothly...lots of fruit/residual sugars/sweetness on the tongue. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Draft. Golden with small white head. Aroma of candy sweetness, grain, and some fruit esters. Medium body with syrupy sweetness upfront some yeast notes. Not as complex and some of the better Trippels.

From notes. 12 oz bottle on March 14. The pour is an orange-ish gold with a great white head and minimal lacing. The aroma is typically Belgian to me, but there is a surprising sweetness that I wasnít expecting. The maltiness and yeastiness is pretty solid as well. The immediate flavor is just like the aroma would suggest; malty, yeasty, bready, and very typical of the Belgian style. The mouth feel is solid, and the carbonation is a touch excessive. The aftertaste is a little dry, but lingeringly good.

Rating 1100. Bottle. In a variety case. By the way this is a good sampler case. Pours a golden tan orange color. Medium head. Candy aroma with light fruits and orange. Mostly Belgium candy. Some banana. Medium sweetness. Light bitter spice at end. Medium bodied. Slight warming alcohol. Good mouthfeel. Average carbonation. I like the label. A solid Belgium trippel. Would get again.

Slightly hazy amber and copper coloured body with a thin, one centimetre tall pure white head. Aroma of caster sugar, yeast, alcohol, bananas, curacao and a bit of basementy funk. Medium-bodied; Dense strong flavour of yeast and caster sugar up front with strong notes of curacao, full oranges, honey, perfume, alcohol and a lot of sweetness. Aftertaste shows mostly yeastie notes with a strong sugar flavour, some subdued honey and unfinished wort notes and a little bitterness from alcohol. Overall, with the ratings as low as they are, I expected worse. This one isnít the worst beer iíve had and itís not a drain pour, but of course, itís not the best tripel íve had. Still, unfortunately a sad reminder of the beer this (kind of) company used to make when it was in the Old Dominion and not in Delaware. I sampled this twelve ounce bottle purchased from Whole Foods in Washington (Foggy Bottom), DC on 13-January-2014 for US$1.99 sampled at home in Washington on 28-February-2014.
