3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
8th June 2014
Hazy amber beer, little white head. Palate is smooth and dry with light fine carbonation. Smooth light malt, dry. Touch of tangy fruits and then sweet floral candy. Light dry minerally finish. Different!

2.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20
Draft at Churchkey. Yet another beer to capitol-ize off the Japanese gift to the District. Hazy red color, large bubble white edge head. Aroma of subtle cherry and lemon. Taste is bitter and sour cherry juice. Not a good combination. Lagers and fruit generally don’t mix.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle from Capone’s. Pours deep orangey copper with minimal off-white head. Nose is caramel malt, mild hopcitrus, mild cherries. Tastes caramel malty, with some cherry flavor and tartness, and a semi-sweet and rounded finish, with nites of cherry, orange marmalade, and spare caramel malt.

2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
12oz bottle, purchased today from Perfect Pour. Shared with family during a seafood dinner in MD. Bottling date is kind of illegible, but it appears to read 03/17/14. Mostly clear orange amber color. Thin off-white head. Thin ring of white head. Dots of lace. Medium body. Smooth, kind of soft, lighter carbonation. More dry finish. Metallic, bready malt. Some metallic. Lager base is unimpressive. Light cherry note is not bad, though. Family seems to love this. Moderate sweet, kind of tangy taste. Decent, kind of refreshing fruit lager. Not terribly out of balance.

2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Draft. Pours amber red with an off white head. Grainy malty base with a hint of fruity sweetness. The flavor has a light cherry sweetness, grainy malts, and a light floral bitterness. Actually quite drinkable, nothing special though.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle. Bit of an orange hue on this otherwise amber beer. Average to normal head. Nice, inviting orchard-based aroma, and indeed this drinks with a decent fruity character, well blended into an otherwise fairly ordinary lagery beer. Not bad. (#5199, 8/15/2013)

2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Bottling date: 03/05/13, screw cap that really didn’t want to come off. Beautiful simple label, Lewis Carroll quote and then Directions: Drink Me. Nose is sweet, lightly corny lager. Pours dark golden with a short-lived head. Taste is very sweet, cherries and base BMC-type lager, grainy and slightly fizzy, cherry tartness comes through more with time. Not the cleanest-feeling beer, but I’m happy they put this out.

2.1 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20
Slightly hazy golden coloured body with the faintest hint of pink and a very thin just off-white head. Aroma of pale malt, cardboard, funk and perhaps a small amount of fruit-based sugars. Light to Medium-bodied; Pale malt flavour with a bit of cardboard, caster sugar and the lightest bit of cherry flavour imaginable. Aftertaste relatively bland as well with some pale malt and odd sugars coming through and not much else. Overall, not such a great beer - as expected, lacking in pretty much everything, but complexity is first and foremost. I sampled this twelve ounce bottle purchased from Giant in Arlington, Virginia on the same day, 01-April-2013 and given to me by a hockey teammate.

2.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20
355ml bottle at home. Pours orange amber with floaters. Aromas are lagery, with a cherry backnote. Tate is light sweet. Body is light, finishes thin. Not my thing.
