Hop lovers, this is the beer for you. Four different styles of American hops are artfully staggered against a sturdy malt backbone to create a unique, drinkable and balanced Pale Ale.

Dark orange with a fairly dense head and medium carbonation. Extremely pleasant aroma comprising a good balance of amber malt and caramel with orange and apricot notes, leading to a spiced fruit sweetness almost preserve like. Good body and malt presence, however the hop characters aren’t as clearly defined or as deep and the aroma suggests. Despite daring the drinker with its name, the balance of the beer tends to hide much of the bitterness leading to a refreshing crisp and mildly sweet/bitter finish.

Bottle - The Hop Loft at The Swan in the Rushes, Loughborough - Cloudy dark amber colour with off white head. Full bodied with some spice, pine and malty sweetness, moderately hoppy. Not bad.

Copper pour w/ a big foamy head that leaves spotty lacing. The aroma is quietly full of hops. The taste is in similar fashion. While the hop presence is there, the beer is still smooth, drinkable, and finishes wet. It’s a decent American Pale but there’s nothing special going on here.

Toffee apple sweetness up front what was interesting about it was from such a sweet kick it turns into a bitter aftertaste. While i normally like a hoppy beer this was just not doing it for me, i’d like to try it again, in case it was just me or the bottle.

Tap, 6.7% abv, one third pint measure at Jake’s Place. Clear, red-brownish coloured body. Fair off-white head, spotty lacing. Malt-fruity smell, marmalade-like. Semi-sweet grapefruit taste with bread-like malts beneath. Fresh deep bitter ending. Well bodied. Nice (Edinburgh 09.08.2013).

bottle. Golden with small head. Unexciting pale ale. Moderate hops that seem a bit past their prime. Slightly below average.

Trade with Aurelius - thanks! Pours a cloudy dark orange with a sticky off-white head that leaves a nice film of lacing. Aroma has some light spruce notes, some peachy notes. Flavor is full bodied with some syrupy piney notes, a touch of bittersweet grapefruit notes and some caramel sweetness. Mouthfeel come off a bit starchy. Overall, decent.
