Hop lovers, this is the beer for you. Four different styles of American hops are artfully staggered against a sturdy malt backbone to create a unique, drinkable and balanced Pale Ale.

3/1/14. With Michelle. Single bottle. At my parents' place. Nicely hopped for a pale ale without crossing into IPA territory. Well done. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Keg at Jakes Place. Amber with off white head. Aroma of pine, dried fruits, raisins and dates. Taste is similar, dried fruits, raisins, prunes with pine and a touch of citrus. Balanced and quite dry. Nice although Iíd say more of an amber ale

Pours a clear amber color with a thin white head. Aroma of grapefruit, heavy caramel, and earthiness. Dry sweet caramel taste with minor hop hit and grapefruit in backend. Eh.

Bottle. Pours a clear copper body with a frothy one finger beige head that had pretty nice retention. The nose is more sweet crystal malt than hops, but thereís some light citrusy notes. The flavor is just way too over the top crystal malt heavy for my tastes, it really takes away from the hops. Some light bitterness on the finish. Light to medium bodied with soft fizzy carbonation. Not so good, ban crystal malt from hoppy beers!

On tap at old domís in the Dulles airport. Reviewed via iPhone. A: copper and hazy. No head. Spotty lacing. Almost has a wheat appearance. Low marks. S: nice and hoppy. Centennials and cascades I would guess. Above average. Hint of metallics. T: nice and bitter up front. Good citrus character. Nice malts are a hint sour - reminds me of mirror pond at times. Again, a hint of metal. M: medium body with lively carb. Dry finish. O: decent pale. Would drink again. Would not seek out. Serving type: on-tap 06-11-2011

Draft at Khyber Pass. Hazy dark amber with splayed lace on top. Tastes like a muddy ESB to me. Hops are there but hardly mountainous. Smooth start and finish. Like the fuller body. Peppery orange aftertaste.

This hits a pretty nice note somewhere between a pale ale and an american style IPA. I like it. Has the mellowness, with the floral hint, of english pale ale with the citrus, pine US hops.

Bottle from some place in Canterbury. Some toffee. Again I cannot vouch for the freshness but itís better than the Beach House. Some hop. Yep itís ok even some half decent hop sting on the finish. Ok

Dark orange with a fairly dense head and medium carbonation. Extremely pleasant aroma comprising a good balance of amber malt and caramel with orange and apricot notes, leading to a spiced fruit sweetness almost preserve like. Good body and malt presence, however the hop characters arenít as clearly defined or as deep and the aroma suggests. Despite daring the drinker with its name, the balance of the beer tends to hide much of the bitterness leading to a refreshing crisp and mildly sweet/bitter finish.

Bottle - The Hop Loft at The Swan in the Rushes, Loughborough - Cloudy dark amber colour with off white head. Full bodied with some spice, pine and malty sweetness, moderately hoppy. Not bad.
