3.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottled on 04/12/12. Nose of sweet, juicy hops, nicely pungent citrus and light woodsiness, some light dough. Deep opaque amber with a frothy beige head. Taste is bitter and resinous with some scratch, bone dry with a dull/muddy caramel base and a good handful of earth. Touch of watery citrus. Flat medium body and a little booze heft. Standard APA.

2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Bottle. Pours a clear copper body with a frothy one finger beige head that had pretty nice retention. The nose is more sweet crystal malt than hops, but thereís some light citrusy notes. The flavor is just way too over the top crystal malt heavy for my tastes, it really takes away from the hops. Some light bitterness on the finish. Light to medium bodied with soft fizzy carbonation. Not so good, ban crystal malt from hoppy beers!

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
On tap at old domís in the Dulles airport. Reviewed via iPhone.
A: copper and hazy. No head. Spotty lacing. Almost has a wheat appearance. Low marks.
S: nice and hoppy. Centennials and cascades I would guess. Above average. Hint of metallics.
T: nice and bitter up front. Good citrus character. Nice malts are a hint sour - reminds me of mirror pond at times. Again, a hint of metal.
M: medium body with lively carb. Dry finish.
O: decent pale. Would drink again. Would not seek out.
Serving type: on-tap

Draft at Khyber Pass. Hazy dark amber with splayed lace on top. Tastes like a muddy ESB to me. Hops are there but hardly mountainous. Smooth start and finish. Like the fuller body. Peppery orange aftertaste.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
This hits a pretty nice note somewhere between a pale ale and an american style IPA. I like it. Has the mellowness, with the floral hint, of english pale ale with the citrus, pine US hops.

Bottle from some place in Canterbury. Some toffee. Again I cannot vouch for the freshness but itís better than the Beach House. Some hop. Yep itís ok even some half decent hop sting on the finish. Ok

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Dark orange with a fairly dense head and medium carbonation. Extremely pleasant aroma comprising a good balance of amber malt and caramel with orange and apricot notes, leading to a spiced fruit sweetness almost preserve like. Good body and malt presence, however the hop characters arenít as clearly defined or as deep and the aroma suggests. Despite daring the drinker with its name, the balance of the beer tends to hide much of the bitterness leading to a refreshing crisp and mildly sweet/bitter finish.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Copper pour w/ a big foamy head that leaves spotty lacing. The aroma is quietly full of hops. The taste is in similar fashion. While the hop presence is there, the beer is still smooth, drinkable, and finishes wet. Itís a decent American Pale but thereís nothing special going on here.

Toffee apple sweetness up front what was interesting about it was from such a sweet kick it turns into a bitter aftertaste. While i normally like a hoppy beer this was just not doing it for me, iíd like to try it again, in case it was just me or the bottle.
