Very good irish dry stout. Perfect nitro pour. Mild aroma of dark roasted malt. Flavor is typical irish stout - dry, watery, refreshing and very quaffable.

Muddy brown, big sheets of white as the head settles. Very nice nose, toasty and roasty, slightly woody, with a good peat character. Nitro kills the flavor of this less than expected, it's still quite flavorful, good roasts with a burnt wood finish. Peaty and smoky, slightly scotchy. Really quite good.
3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 argo0 (9226) - Washington DC, USA - OCT 10, 2004
(draft) Nitro creamy tan head atop brown-black body. Aroma is medium sweet, chocolate, coffee, roasty, hint of smoke. Taste is medium sweet, coffee, some chocolate, roasty. Light-medium body, fairly clean finish, though the roasty coffee lingers.

Pitch black in colour, frothy off-white coloured head from Nitrogen. Smells of roasted malt very prominent. Full-bodied; Very creamy mouthful. Tastes of malt, malt and more malt. Subtle aftertaste, a good deal of drying on the palate. As you drink the head leaves a VERY nice lacing around the glass...top notch. A fresh and clean stout that rivals some of the better 'Dry Stouts'...even from Ireland! I had this on draught at the Old Dominion Brewpub in Ashburn, Virginia on 23-August-2003.

On tap at the Brew Pub. Deep black color with a creamy head from the nitrogen. Reminded me of Guinness. Chocolaty aroma. Roasted malt and some coffee as well. Nice balanced flavor with toffee, roasted coffee, and a hint of chocolate. Very nice stout!

Had this on draft at Dominion on 11/21/04. Black body with a small dense tan head. Is this on nitro? Nose is roasted malt, light coffee and a pleasant underlying sweetness. Taste is roasty, sweet, light coffee, and some bittersweet chocolate. Body is smooth and creamy with a light oily feel. Hint of bitterness. Finishes with more roasted malt coffee and bittersweet chocolate. Nice beer!

On draft at the brewery. I respect that this brewer replicates this style so well. Still, I cannot regard it higher than the beers that inspire it. Amazing lace.

Completely black color with a bone white head. Amazing contrast in appearence and the head leaves lovely lacing. Smell is dark roasted malt, pretty much similar to guiness extra stout. Medium feeling in the mouth, not too big. Flavor is big time malt accompanied by some wateriness that I did not enjoy. But don't get me wrong, this is an excellent Dry stout with very complex malt characteristics. Assuredly worth a try if you can find it. I had mine on tap at the Old Dominion Brewpub in Ashburn, VA with my good friend jgb9348.

Black body toppped by a tight nitrogen head. Chocolate and coffee aromas. Flavor is dry roasted malt. Medium creamy body (from the nitrogen pour). Typical for this style.
