At the Brewery - a creamy, smooth drink, light enough to drink without feeling stuffed at the end of a pint or two. Not going to change your life, but a yummy brew, none the less!
3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 beervana (781) - Libertyville, Illinois, USA - FEB 5, 2006
(02.03.06) On tap at Old Dominion brewpub, Ashburn, VA. Black hued with creamy off-white head. No discernable carbonation. No aroma. Medium bodied stout that starts with light sweet malt and roasted malt flavor. Finishes dry with light lingering roasted malt bitterness. Thin textured and watery. Monodimensional in flavor with very little complexity. An ordinary drinkable stout.
2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20 Braudog (4607) - Hampton, Virginia, USA - SEP 8, 2005
On draft at the brewpub, 9/1/05: Creamy ... nice irish look ... smoky, sugary, lightly tinged with a bitter chocolate sense. Bit thin.
3.1 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 BuckNaked (1223) - Tempe, Arizona, USA - MAR 17, 2005
Dark brown with a small, thick brown head (nitro). This one smells of mild roasted malt, mild coffee, smoke, chocolate, with an aroma that is mild overall. Upon first taste, I’m quite surprised at how thin and watery it is. Taste is mildly bitter with hints of roasted malt, bitter chocolate, slight hints of smoke, perhaps even a bit of wood. Overall it’s dry and mild.
3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 13/20 chriso (7065) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - DEC 23, 2004
Dense black colour, with a moderate, creamy head. Very dry, with roast and smoky malt and hints of chocolate. Quite tasty. Smooth palate, but there’s not much body to it and the overall feel is a bit weedy. I’d rather got used to stouts being a bit bigger than this in the US. On tap at the Dominion brewery.
3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 TheBeerGod (4131) - Newport News, Virginia, USA - DEC 3, 2004
Had this on draft at Dominion on 11/21/04. Black body with a small dense tan head. Is this on nitro? Nose is roasted malt, light coffee and a pleasant underlying sweetness. Taste is roasty, sweet, light coffee, and some bittersweet chocolate. Body is smooth and creamy with a light oily feel. Hint of bitterness. Finishes with more roasted malt coffee and bittersweet chocolate. Nice beer!

Poured a chestnut brown color with a tight, creamy, khaki head and left light lacing on the glass. Butterscotch and roasted aroma. Watery and dry, very light chocolate and mild roast as well. Disappointing mouthfeel.

On tap at the Brew Pub. Deep black color with a creamy head from the nitrogen. Reminded me of Guinness. Chocolaty aroma. Roasted malt and some coffee as well. Nice balanced flavor with toffee, roasted coffee, and a hint of chocolate. Very nice stout!
