COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Dominion Lager is brewed using four types of malted barley: Two-Row Pale Brewer’s malt, Munich, Carapils, and Caramel. The bittering hops are Perle and Hallertau from the Yakima Valley in Washington State. The aromatic hops are domestic Tettnang, German Hallertau Hersbrucker, and Czech Saaz. This combination of malt and hops, along with a classic lager yeast from Germany, and the long, low-temperature lagering process results in a mild, smooth, flavorful, complex beer that is a delight to drink.

Actually a strong, good lager with good malt and some nice hops. Pours amber with good head and lacing. Finishes with a little bitterness, good balance. Finishes with light bitterness. Comes together with good balance. Pleasantly surprised here. On tap at DC Summerfest.

Tap. Clear deep nice golden yellow with a fluffy white head. Light grassy hops, dough, and a hint of malty sweetness. Flavor is very similar. Mostly clean with crackers and light grassy hops. Lighter to medium body. Not bad, but far from a great lager.

Poured from a bottle. Orange/amber with white foamy head; plenty of splotchy lacing. Aroma is pear, apple, grain, and earth. The beer starts sweet, but then gives way to a long bitter finish. Body is light and carbonation is soft. Not my favorite style, but an OK beer.

12 ounce bottle into lager glass, no bottle dating. Pours moderately hazy golden amber color with a 1-2 finger dense and rocky off-white head with fantastic retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lasts. Nice spotty soapy lacing clings down the glass, with a good amount of streaming carbonation retaining the head. Aromas of pear, apple, cracker, biscuit, light caramel, honey, floral, grass, herbal, light pepper, and yeast earthiness. Nice and pleasant aromas with good balance of malt, hop, and yeast ester notes; with solid strength. Taste of pear, apple, cracker, biscuit, light caramel, honey, floral, grass, light pepper, herbal, and yeast earthiness. Light earthy bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of light fruits, cracker, biscuit, honey, light caramel, floral, grass, herbal, and yeast earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Nice balance and robustness of malt, hop, and yeast ester flavors; with a great malt/hop balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Medium carbonation and body; with a smooth, clean, and moderately crisp mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is very well hidden with minimal warming present after the finish. Overall this is a very good Dortmunder style. Good balance and robustness of flavors; and very smooth and crisp to drink. A nicely enjoyable offering.

Bottle; poured an orange amber type color, somewhat glowing; whitish head. Aroma of bread, some caramel, fruit/sweetness, and grass/earth. Slightly tingly on the palate in a positive way. Slightly sweet and earthy, bready with some caramel and fruit. A nice version of the style.

Somewhat on the amber in color for a lager, it’s mostly clean and clear, with a foamy bright white head and no rising carbonation. It smells like a lager, but very grain-forward in character. It really reminds me of an Oktoberfest/Marzen in its ease of drinking, slight caramel sweetness, and malty finish. Good for an Oktoberfest, different for a lager, a pleasant drink overall.

I really liked this beer. i recieved it this month from beer of the month club. I have to say i haven’t been impressed with the beers that i i’ve gotten from them but i actually liked this one. It’s very smooth and doesn’t finish with an overwhelming hopping flavor. I tend to stay away from the bitter beers but this one is just about right. it’s a little bitter but it doesn’t linger. the flavor is great! i would buy this again.

A yellow beer with a small head. Malts and soft fruit flavors--peach, plum. A bit of dry hop at the end. Not a style I generally go to, but this one was OK. Nothing great, but OK.

Serving: 12 oz. bottle. It pours a solid amber color with a decent white head. The nose is muted with a little grain and grass. The flavor has a hint of sweetness up front with the grain coming through first. The grassy hops overcome the malt pretty quickly leaving you with a slightly bitter finish. Not bad, but not in the greatest harmony either. Light to medium body with average carbonation and a weak finish. Not my favorite lager.
