Harris Teeter, DC sixer ($7): Pours a slightly dark color for a Dortmunder with a white head. Aroma is of grass, grain, hops, and bread. Taste is much the same. Very well-balanced. Full of flavour. Nothing boring, but still this is really nice and sessionable. Hops are in good force. No offensive notes. Nice bready flavour. Made to style, and done well, which is more than I can say about most beer. Is it my favourite Dort? No. Do I like it? Yes. Good value? Hell, yes.

From a twist off bottle. Smells a little strong and perhaps sweet for a lager at first but olfactory eventually evolves to a hoppy mild background. Woo, first taste is lots of hops in this almost making it a weirdly hopped american pale ale in nature. Pale lager look with some brown haze in there. Yes, highly hopped in a dull lager processed kind of way. Same with the finish. Decent co2 thru the session. Much personality. IMHO not nearly as good as

Thanks again to my beer buddy Big D!!! A decent larger, not much brewers can do with this style. This beer is on style, and it has a nice hop in the finish. A good beer of its style.

Slightly cloudy, yellow/gold appearance with a small white head and a fair amount of lacing. Subtle aroma; some sweetness, some grassiness, some crisp fruit. Malty, cracker-like flavors up front with a dry, bitter, hoppy aftertaste. Medium-to-light bodied, well carbonated mouthfeel with a lingering finish. Reminded me of the now retired DeGroens Helles.

Pours a clear golden color with some visible carbonation and a white head. The nose is slightly hoppy and floral with some grain. Taste brigs slight bitterness and some straw and grain. Feel is light and crisp leading to good drinkability.
