3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 bitbucket (2072) - Kirkland, Washington, USA - FEB 2, 2007
Bottle from TheBeerCellar2. Thanks! Pours a hazy gold with a small but lacy white head. A touch of lemon and caramel in the nose. Medium body and light carbonation. Very lightly sour bready taste, but a little sweet too. Sort of like lemon pound cake. A very slight buttered popcorn note just before the clean finish. But it’s there and I can’t seem to get away from it.
3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 asteele8 (270) - Mukilteo, Washington, USA - JAN 27, 2007
Bottle - 061005. Pours a hazy golden color with a small white head on top. Aroma is full of malt, grain, grass, hops, bread, and yeast. Flavor is a mixture of sweet and sour. Bread, yeast, and hops come to the palate. The beer leaves the mouth dry and sour after the swallow. Very interesting. It is very smooth, clean and drinkable.
3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 1FastSTi (2990) - Glendale, Wisconsin, USA - JAN 12, 2007
Bottled on 051006. The beer pours to a glowing orange body with a thin white head and moderate visible carbonation. The aroma is quite hoppy with interesting Saaz and Hallertau. Some bread dough also come out. A little grassy. The flavor is grassy and interesting with lots of corn silage and some sourdough bread. The palate is well carbonated but the texture is smooth and easy to drink. This is a very drinkable brew.
2.5 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 EithCubes (3053) - GERMANY - JAN 2, 2007
Bottle. Light bread aroma. Clear golden pour with a violent and short-lived little white head. As seems to be a common problem with this brewer, overcarbonated. Very malty and smooth with classic bready malts. Medium-lightish body with a velvety mf. A little too sharp for the style, but otherwise a pretty decent take.
3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 Veeve (312) - Winston-Salem, North Carolina, USA - NOV 25, 2006

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20 jpm30 (1587) - East Central, Georgia, USA - OCT 27, 2006
From a twist off 12 oz. bottle with a bottling date on the upper right side of label, 05.10.06, a blurb on the back label.
Poured a clear reddish golden with a foamy white head that settled into a thin sudsy lacing.
Aromas of musty grain and floral, spicy hops.
Good carbonation and a crisp, dryish, smooth light-medium bodied mouthfeel.
Pleasant Dortmunder taste, earthy graininess with a light malt sweetness, a spicy herbal hoppiness, brisk in the palate, a subtle citric fruitiness and a dry grainy finish.
A nice Dortmunder-style lager, if this was available in Illinois, I could see myself drinking this often, especially in restaurants.
2.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20 Trooper11 (468) - Suffolk, Virginia, USA - OCT 23, 2006
Very hazy orange brew, small foamy white head. Super sweet malty pear aroma. A bit grassy. Thick, malty bitter flavor. Kind of taste like sour grapes and strong malt and grains. Kind of odd spicy.
1.2 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 3/20 frankenkitty (1953) - Oak Lawn, Illinois, USA - OCT 8, 2006
Mid-golden with a light haze and a 2-finger white head that fades fast to a scummy film. Diacetyl problems evident and upsetting. Mild notes of vinegar in aroma and flavor. Flavor finds a sour yeastiness alongside sweet, buttery kettle corn. Despite my high numbers, this was still a drain pour.
