COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Dominion Lager is brewed using four types of malted barley: Two-Row Pale Brewer’s malt, Munich, Carapils, and Caramel. The bittering hops are Perle and Hallertau from the Yakima Valley in Washington State. The aromatic hops are domestic Tettnang, German Hallertau Hersbrucker, and Czech Saaz. This combination of malt and hops, along with a classic lager yeast from Germany, and the long, low-temperature lagering process results in a mild, smooth, flavorful, complex beer that is a delight to drink.

Deep gold color. Aroma has a spicy hoppyness, buttery, caramel. Taste has a hop bite with some residual sweetness and slight toastyness. Mouthfeel is watery, pretty lame. Other than that this is very drinkable.

Bright straw body with medium carbonation and an ample, sudsy, pure white head. Fragrant, malty aroma with notes of butternut, honeysuckle, and mild, peppery hops. Flavor is nutty but clean with some sweetness early, good depth of malts with no graininess, and a fresh, wholesome, earthy character. Finishes semi-dry with some crisp, developing bitterness. Creamy mouthfeel. A very good dortmunder when fresh and an excellent session lager.

Bottle. Pours pale, orangey yellow with very little white head. Sweetish malt aroma of bread dough, with a little butter and an odd note of sour lemon. Grassy malt taste with faint lemon and yellow apple, finishing with straw.

Poured a very clear and crisp golden color and was true to the light Helles style it is listed as here on BP. Very sweet aroma with a light touch of hops, both of which come out in the flavor. The straw-like / grassy aftertaste I don’t enjoy in my lagers / pislners was subtle but present. Pretty boring, but not a bad working / summer thirst quencher.

UPDATED: JAN 21, 2007 A light yellow beer that was flat and bland. A very boring beer. Blacksburg, VA in a bottle.
