3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 Indra (2323) - Overland Park, Kansas, USA - JUN 21, 2004
Aroma is primarily hoppy -- leafy, herbal, lightly tart and fruity with dryish cedary notes and a faintly toasty, grainy malt counterpoint. Deep golden color, clear, with a diminishing head. Hops are also the dominant flavor characteristic, lightly spicy, green, crisp and faintly vegetative with a moderate amount of bitterness and a complimentary, light, toasty caramel maltiness emerging late. Smooth, effervescent mouthfeel, body is light-medium. Interesting and well-hopped example of the style.
4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 Falconseye8 (542) - Evans, Colorado, USA - JUN 9, 2004
Lived in Virginia for 3 1/2 years and never had a Dominion brew. After this one, the count goes to two. I like this better than the Dominion Ale. Both have good hops, this one has a smoother cleaner feel and taste. Maybe first was a bad bottle. This is much better. Look forward to trying the rest of the Dominion brews.
3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 DocLock (5776) - Lower Pottsgrove, Pennsylvania, USA - JUN 2, 2004
Pours deep golden, with a nice malt aroma. Tastes malty, with some hops, fruit, and a smooth, crisp finish. This is a great lager.
2.3 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20 omhper (15600) - Stockholm, SWEDEN - MAY 13, 2004
Bottled. Golden colour, no head. Strong aroma of mashed apples. Fruity with clean, gently rounded mouthfeel. Malty with some hop presence but low bitterness. The apple aroma carries on to the finish, destroying an otherwise well made beer. A good beer with a serious flaw.
3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20 OlJuntan64 (1266) - Perth, AUSTRALIA - MAY 1, 2004
On tap at Brewery: Medium gold clear under a small short lasting head. Faintly metallic light aromatic and woody hops aroma. Smooth butterscotch feel body. Lightly sour medium light aromatic hops bitter and mild malt flavours. Slightly acrid bitter aftertaste. Cool brewery location picks it up an extra point on the overall.
3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 VAYankee (267) - Virginia, USA - APR 25, 2004
Clear golden body, effervescent, white head. Aroma is lightly sweet, a nice combination of malt and hops, with just a bit of yeast. Crisp clean flavor, mostly a malt nicely blended with hops, also light citrus. Nice clean aftertaste, lightly biscuity and dry.
3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 rajendra82 (793) - Alpharetta, Georgia, USA - MAR 28, 2004
Clear pale golden color with a very thin head and minimal lace. Forced carbonation is very lively. Aroma is clean and grainy with subtle delicately floral hops. Taste is again clean grainy malt with very light hoppyness. There are almost no fruity esters to speak of. A little citric tartness starts creeping in mid palette. Enjoy this for what it is folks, a simple, clean, sessionable lager. Pretty similar in most respects to Samuel Adams Boston Lager, but a bit less malty.
4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 jables (101) - Champaign, Illinois, USA - MAR 22, 2004
This gets high marks for being a surprise beer. I didn't expect such a deep, golden appearance or such good lacing. I didn't expect the scent. I didn't expect such a full mouthfeel. I didn't expect an adjunct-less lager with a good hop flavor and a sweet, sweet finish.
Very drinkable and highly recommended for its taste:price ratio. very cheap, great price, equals an everyday drinking beer. Good stuff
