3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
UPDATED: AUG 24, 2003 Gold in colour, mild in smell...strong taste-more like a nice ale! In fact, I prefer this beer over the Dominion Ale!
Re-rate: Golden body with a very dense, fluffy white head. Very hoppy aroma, dry-hopped with Saaz. Malty taste, perfectly mixed with nice hops. A great beer...I had this on draught at the brewery tour. Tasted at the Dominion Brewery in Ashburn, Virginia on 23-August-2003.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
UPDATED: APR 29, 2007 Bottle... I’ve tasted this beer at several parties and bars. Nothing kills a group buzz like a guy scribbling in a notebook. This used to be one of my favorite stand-bys. This brew really reminds me of a Vienna style lager.

3.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Deep golden colour with a white head. Failry crisp. A dortmunder with tendencies towards a pilsener. A hint of caramel as well. I like it. It’s not incredie, but well made and easy to drink.

3.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Nice tan color with a wispy, white head that doesn’t stick around. Aroma leaves a little to be desired - not bad, but not very noticable at all. Just lightly malty and imperceptable hops. The body on this is quite good - thick, yet clean. Nice caramel flavors with a clean, mildly hoppy finish. Very good, and a macroswilling friend was also able to enjoy this with me.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 18/20
Magnificently put together! Its weakness, if there is one at all, is in the aroma department - I just don’t detect all that much there, despite the addition of Saaz (which should be pretty easy to notice). But I’m quibbling. This is otherwise the best Dort/Helles I’ve had and stands as a testament to the craft lager-brewer’s art. Crisp and well-carbed with a full-body lager taste.

4.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
Rerate: Wow. Had a giant 4 way helles-off today and this and the Wolnzacher were the big winners. Major points for full malt, real tart yet still smooth, with loads of hallertau. Delicious! Original 1/08/02: Very impressive mouthfeel, and the head was as picture perfect as you can imagine. Light aroma, as one might expect. Tasted wonderful.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
A good lager, much better than a macro though apperances are about the same. Has a great malty charecter that is evened out nicly by the slight bitterness at the end. This would be a good every day drinker for lager fans.

4.5 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Oh, yes. This is a great Dortumunder/Export. Subtle, balanced complexity in flavor and aroma. Compare this one to Victory All-Malt Lager. This one has a touch more hop bitterness. One of my favorites and a great pick for those who appreciate a light lager.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Deep yellow color; little head. Interesting spice on the back of the tongue tempered by a pleasent sweetness at the front.
