COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Dominion Lager is brewed using four types of malted barley: Two-Row Pale Brewer’s malt, Munich, Carapils, and Caramel. The bittering hops are Perle and Hallertau from the Yakima Valley in Washington State. The aromatic hops are domestic Tettnang, German Hallertau Hersbrucker, and Czech Saaz. This combination of malt and hops, along with a classic lager yeast from Germany, and the long, low-temperature lagering process results in a mild, smooth, flavorful, complex beer that is a delight to drink.

UPDATED: APR 29, 2007 Bottle... I’ve tasted this beer at several parties and bars. Nothing kills a group buzz like a guy scribbling in a notebook. This used to be one of my favorite stand-bys. This brew really reminds me of a Vienna style lager.

Bottle. Pours a hazy amber color with an average frothy white head that was lasting. Good complex balanced aroma. Medium body. Moderate hoppy grass flavor with a good moderate finish. Good complex brew.

It was certainly a pleasant surprise to find a brewery bar at an airport but, sadly, the range of brews available was rather restricted, and I’d already tried the other stuff they had on tap, so I thought I’d better give this a go. Golden colour. Quite dry, with some biscuity malt. Fresh and clean, but not too exciting; at the end of the day it’s just another run of the mill lager. A bit fizzy. On tap at the Old Dominion Bar, Dulles International Airport..

The Lure:
Cheesy Saaz effusions and an intriguing funky fat. Fruity wilderness for eminent quaffing.

The Festivities:
Slick yet fizzy moments propulse the citrusy fruitiness to domination over the cookie-like malt hints. Hay bitterness spruces up the cheesy, complex hops.

Transcendence:
Strong winds transport the aromas of the vast surrounding fields.

Tap at VA Beach Craft Beer Festival. Pours clear orange with a medium, frothy off-white head, medium retention with good lacing. Aroma is corn, meal, grain, and cereal malt, moderate Noble hops, and a clean lager nose. Flavor is malty, corn and meal, light to medium hops and bitterness, dry finish and a clean lager character. Medium body and carbonation, low warmth.

Pours deep golden, with a nice malt aroma. Tastes malty, with some hops, fruit, and a smooth, crisp finish. This is a great lager.

A faint white cover thrones over this light gold hue. Crisp aromas of oily hops, highly floral with plenty of herbal, seedy malty nuances and a touch of diacetyl. Incredibly soft toasted malt is highly elegant in here, very biscuity with just battered butter undertones. Grassy soft hops bring petals and algae original hints. Crisp palate, slightly oily texture, moderately carbonated. Greatly executed and quenching. It is 5 months old now and I suspect it would have been excellent within the first few weeks.
