vadavid (131), Fredericksburg, Virginia, USA Dec 15, 2007 Updated: Dec 16, 2007 Pours golden-straw color with a thick, creamy head. Strong buttery aroma. Toffee and caramel malt flavor, some breadiness. The mouth feel is thick and rich, quite carbonated. A fine example of the Dortmunder style. Hopefully this will survive the changes at the brewery, it’s a beer my non-craft drinking friends enjoy.
jjpm74 (3087), Stratford, CT 06614, Connecticut, USA Oct 5, 2008 Bottle courtesy of sloth. Pours a hazy amber with a white head. Smells grassy with some earthy hints. Tastes lightly citrussy with a splash of pepper on the finish. Bierkrug (32), Mackenrodt, Germany Sep 22, 2008 Typical American ice cream parlor flavored brewery stuff. Not real beer by European standards. Hoppy smell and flavor, fades quickly, has a corn flavor. badlizard (1523), San Diego, California, USA Sep 7, 2008 Bottle in VA. Bright golden yellow with a fizzy white head. Sweet grain and vanilla aroma and taste with some nice milky oat notes and a clean finish. Quite good. TURDFERGUSON (1153), Carrboro, North Carolina, USA Aug 31, 2008 Bottle on closeout at Sam’s. Nose was sweet malts, toast, and buttery diacetyl. I could really taste the diacetyl in the flavor which left this one almost undrinkable. Light, crisp mouthfeel. I could see this beer being pretty good fresh, but with these infections, its pretty tough to like. Kirill (242), Durham, North Carolina, USA Aug 25, 2008 full gold with small head... one of the more yeasty lager aromas ive ever smelled.. sweet aftertaste with a good german lager feel to it... good lager, especially selling for $9.99 for a 24 pack
