Great dark brown appearance. Smells and tastes of honey. Strange, papery aftertaste.

Pour thanks to motortoddhead. Orange-amber in color. Nose is very caramel with a bit of fruitiness. Flavor well-refined toasted malt, dried apricot, caramel sweetness, and a bite of hop bitterness at the end. Residual sticky malts and hop bitterness to the finish. Alcohol moderately well hidden with a little trailing heat.

11/2011 SBF: Pours a copper color with a whithe head. Sweet and malty overtones with coramel and bready finish.

Tap. Decent barley wine. generally like them a little hoppier but not bad. Almost reminds me of caramel.

Dark brown-orange, off white cover. Aroma is dark fruits, caramel, brown sugar, alcohol. Taste is sweet, fig, plum, lots of fruit and caramel. Nice stuff.

Amber to reddish brown body. Fruity, citric, grainy aroma. Moderately bitter, moderately sweet flavour. Quite well balanced, but not very complex (bit subttle).

12 ounce thanks to watson1977. Big orange barley wine with a nice pour. Bottled January this year. Lots of sugar, honey, and sweet in the taste. I find the alcohol to be hidden. Bit of apple and pear as well. Very nice barley wine.

Bottle (from the november 2005 RB-tasting at Dixens place - notes have been damaged by flooding of my basement, but this was such an insane tasting for me as I was new to such massive tastings, so I gave up on the detailed notes quite early). Light hoppy, heavy, sweet malt. All that was readable...
