3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 13/20
Brown-to-black in the glass from a draft. Coffee, roasty notes carried on a light aroma of yeast. A hint of spicy hop, but the weight of the beer is a little light for me. The punch of chocolate and coffee never really hits home, and as a result I get too much astringency from the nine percent abv.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
12oz bottle pours a murky black with some creamy, beige head. Nose has a nice mix of molasses, malt, coffee beans, chocolate and vanilla. Flavor has the right amount of sweetness, chocolate, mocha, coffee bean, molasses, some toast, a little caramel. Full, lightly sweet finish. Thought this would be imbalanced, but it was easy to drink.
