Loose lips sink ships, and coquettish glory will never tell. A midnight stout brewed with coffee beans, Morning Glory wakes up at 9% ALC. By Vol., with the aroma of espresso.

12 oz bottle into a Duvel tulip. A: Pours a borderline black color, albeit one that lacks impressive thickness. The head is a four finger khaki shade featuring nice retention. The head leaves behind some nice lacing, also. S: Thereís a good espresso presence here, but itís not overpowering or even super-strong. Beneath the coffee notes lie notes of licorice, chocolate, roasted barley, cream, and even some leafy hops. Really damn pleasant, if not massively bold. T: Initially it opens up with some light roasted barley and chocolate. Coffee builds up on the finish and aftertaste, backed by some licorice, nuttiness, char, and even a touch of piny hops. I donít think the espresso used here is amazing, which is my biggest quibble. Decently deep and enjoyable, though. M: Indeed, this one lacks body. Itís not the driest coffee stout either, choosing to err slightly towards a sweet finish. It goes down superbly, which is my #1 desire for a good coffee stout. O: I donít think it can compete with WnB or FBS. I do think, however, itís a solid alternative, and a superbly priced one at that. And it delivers the drinkability and the coffee-ness I look for.

Bottle - Bottled May 2013; Drank Feb 2014 - Opaque Black in colour. Very Malty; lots of dark roast espresso coffee, roasty malts, some chocolate, sugar. Fruity; dark fruits, hint of citrus. Hoppy; slight earthy hops. Smooth. Alcohol well disguised. Sweet espresso coffee roast malty throughout, increasingly dry into a mildly bitter and slightly salty roast coffee finish. Decent.

A very nice stout! Good chocolate & roasted notes in both the aroma & flavor. Nice dark pour & really easy on the palate. Well done!

From a 12 oz bottle shared at home. Pours a clear dark cola with a tan head. Aroma of toasted nuts. Flavors of coffee and tobacco. Medium bodied, high carbonation, bitter finish.

This was a really nice stout from a bottle in MD. It had all the typical merits bit I gave it a good ranking because it also was quite smooth. Dark, clear coffee note, nice lacing and full mouth.

Coffee, chocolate, and a little metallic funk in the aroma. Flavor starts with coffee, vanilla, and nuts, then finishes with roast coffee bitterness. Pretty solid beer, although Iím a little surprised this is classified as a sweet stout.

Draft at Winberrieís. Black pour with small amount of tan head. Good lacing. Aroma is dark coffee and faint chocolate, also some pecan or walnut. Taste is slightly bitter coffee, touch of chocolate. Definitely not a "sweet" Sweet Stout for me. Things tend to be a bit dryer and muted here. No central flavors pop out on this one.

Bottle. Comes off with a nice coffee aroma. The color is black and has a small tan head. The taste is fairly settle, the coffee flavor is not over powering. The Morning Glory is a good stout to start with.
