KnN (320), Greenbelt, Maryland, USA Oct 12, 2008 Poured a nice deep brown with a tan head. Aroma is malty and nutty with a good hint of roast in there. May be a bit of biscuit hiding in the back. Flavor is very smooth. Some more nutty roast in the palate with almost no bitterness. This is a real easy drinking beer and a nice stout. Enjoyed this one quite a bit. The_Captain (331), Lancaster, Pennsylvania, USA Oct 7, 2008 KSBF 08- Deep dark wood pour with a tan head. Vanilla, coffee oak roast which carries into the pallet. Sweetness blends with the overall texture but pretty mellow. Great all around. NomDeBeer (155), Baltimore, Maryland, USA Sep 25, 2008 Aroma and taste are both nice and sweet: chocolate, vanilla, caramel, coffee, and does anyone else taste a hint of raspberry (maybe I’ve had one too many)? Little to no hops, short finsh, could use a bit more body, but its very smooth and drinkable. fredandboboflo (633), East Setauket, New York, USA Sep 20, 2008 Bottle, bottled 6/10/04. Aroma distinctly of raisinets, chocolate and raisins sure, but very specifically raisinets. Flavor continued to be chocolatey with the sweet fruity notes, and a bunch of vanilla, just a touch of oak, overall quite sweet. Quite old obviously, would like a fresher bottle, but certainly an interesting treat it was. LilBeerDoctor (642), East Setauket, New York, USA Sep 20, 2008 Bottle courtesy of sloth, bottled 6/10/04. Pours black with a minute tan head. Aroma and flavor of Raisinettes and vinegar. I’m not sure if this beer went bad or if it’s supposed to taste like this, but either way, yuck! Hopefully I can get a fresher bottle of this to re-rate.
