3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle from AP Harvey Wines, Coventry watching US Vs Portugal. Feel physically sick for the Americans, especially as I had them to win 2-1 at 14-1. The beer: greige-lidded tar edged with ruby. Fruity high cocoa, aged rum and coconut aroma. Something of a Caribbean stout or schwarzbier feel on the palate with toasted coconut, rum, rye bread and yeast extract notes. Pleasant if a little thin and obvious.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Dark brown with crema head. Nose and coffee. Taste subdued sweet and bitter. Palate medium, creamy texture. Finish fairly dry. Improves as you drink it but not particularly special. No obvious sign of vanilla or oak.

4.6 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20

2.3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20
Bottle.Pitch black colour with off-beige head.Aroma roosted and sourish with hint of licorice and malt, guess that a barrel stout must be better then that, fells overall a bit thin and boring.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Drank from the bottle. Aroma is vanilla, licorice, chocolate, and mild notes of coffee. The oak does not come out like I hoped in the taste, but the vanilla really shines. Thin and sweet. Solid beer.

2.2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 10/20
Pours dark with red highlights, minimal head. Nose is roasty, vanilla, lactose, maybe a little chocolate. Taste is mild, roasty, vanilla, not really sweet nor dry. Very thin watery mouthfeel. Not overly aromatic or flavorful. Sub par while not being offensive.

3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 9/20
Subtle and dry brew with hints of that vanilla but not so much of the woodiness you might expect.

4.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
UPDATED: MAY 8, 2014 Draft. Low carbonation. Dark color. A light vanilla favour, but not overpowering. May not even notice it if I didn?t know. Very little to no oak flavor. Thought it was aged in oak, but only on oak chips. Good stout though, but light wood flavor.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle at home from Brewtique, Macclesfield. Poured deep dark black with a decent tan head. Aroma of leather, some chocolate. Flavour has a nice chocolate finish, some wood, vanilla, roasted malts. Enjoyed this, good beer.
