3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Deep rich looking brown stout with a dense thick head. Hard to tell as far as carbonation is concerned with the deep brown color.
Very malty in aroma, smelling also sweet with a nice subtle roastiness.
A smooth, rich complex flavor of sweet malt, oak pews and sutle vanilla undertones.
I’m not picking up a lot in way of hops.
Smooth and flavorful
Very drinkable in my opinion.

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Poured from bottle. Aroma of malt and licorice. Stout black with a bit of tan head. I taste toasted malt, wood, vanilla, oat, cocoa, cherry, licorice. Just slightly sweet. Earthy hops in back. Not phenomenal, but pretty good.

4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle was expired by nearly 3 months (I misread the date), but it was still good. Pours a black color with a light off-white foam. Aroma is oak and vanilla. Flavor is oak, vanilla, and hints of wood and roasted malts. Lightly sweet. Very good. I want to try a fresh bottle.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle. Black with a medium sized diminishing light brown head. Coffee, cocoa, vanilla, wood mingles with citrus and pine hop notes. Medium body, oily texture, medium carbonation, medium sweet and bitter, light acidic. Long vanilla and cocoa finish. The vanilla could be toned a bit down for my taste, but good enough without being spectacular.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle from AP Harvey Wines, Coventry watching US Vs Portugal. Feel physically sick for the Americans, especially as I had them to win 2-1 at 14-1. The beer: greige-lidded tar edged with ruby. Fruity high cocoa, aged rum and coconut aroma. Something of a Caribbean stout or schwarzbier feel on the palate with toasted coconut, rum, rye bread and yeast extract notes. Pleasant if a little thin and obvious.

Dark brown with crema head. Nose and coffee. Taste subdued sweet and bitter. Palate medium, creamy texture. Finish fairly dry. Improves as you drink it but not particularly special. No obvious sign of vanilla or oak.

4.6 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20

2.3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20
Bottle.Pitch black colour with off-beige head.Aroma roosted and sourish with hint of licorice and malt, guess that a barrel stout must be better then that, fells overall a bit thin and boring.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Drank from the bottle. Aroma is vanilla, licorice, chocolate, and mild notes of coffee. The oak does not come out like I hoped in the taste, but the vanilla really shines. Thin and sweet. Solid beer.
