COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Dominion Oak Barrel Stout is rich and smooth, a draught brew so popular at our Brewup that we found a way to bottle it for a wider audience. We combine seven different malts and two hops to create a delicious stout, that we dry-hop with fresh vanilla beans and toasted oak to finish our little treasure. The result is a stout that has the bourbon barrel flavor we all enjoy, and hope you will to.

Note: made with oak chips and vanilla beans, not aged in barrels. Available bottled and draft outside of the brewpub.

Pours pitch black. Aroma is sweet, caramel and sweet malts. Taste is molasses and dark stouty malt. Nice hop balance, just enough bitterness to make it a little refreshing. Its a little light like other people were saying, its not thick like a lot of stouts are but I kind of like that about it.... Its good.

Very dark pour from the bottle at Dulles. No head to speak of. Not much aroma either. But the flavor really kicked things into gear. Chocolate and burnt toasted flavors. Very tasty stuff.

Bottle from Barleyshops in Congleton. Black with a light brown foamy head. This has a good nose on it, light roast with vanilla and acidity. Smooth and tasty. Vanilla notes, oak (what a surprise), malty. Pretty good, that a little to acid for me and not enough chocolate.

Bottle in Baltimore. Brown pour, almost no head. Aroma is roasty, loads of caramel, vanilla, chocolate and some sugary malts. Flavor is quite smooth, slightly roasty, quite sweet and with a decent body. Somehow has all the ingredients for an epic stout, but isnt it. Might be that the oak and vanilla seem a little forced on this one.

Draft at IAD. Pours very dark brown with a fizzy beige head. Tastes like sweet chocolate malt, roasted, molasses, and dry earth. Light/medium body and low carbonation. Smells like chocolate, molasses, syrup, and roasted malt.

Got a ton of oak on this one. Otherwise, not much to speak of.. pretty bland. I felt like I was drinking a liquified version of an old bookcase.
