COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Dominion Oak Barrel Stout is rich and smooth, a draught brew so popular at our Brewup that we found a way to bottle it for a wider audience. We combine seven different malts and two hops to create a delicious stout, that we dry-hop with fresh vanilla beans and toasted oak to finish our little treasure. The result is a stout that has the bourbon barrel flavor we all enjoy, and hope you will to.

Note: made with oak chips and vanilla beans, not aged in barrels. Available bottled and draft outside of the brewpub.

This bottle I had was bottled almost exactly a year ago. Itís a pitch black color with a nice brown head that goes away quick. The aroma isnít strong, but it smells like vanilla with hints of caramel. Itíd a lot smoother to drink than a normal stout which is a little weird. It tastes like vanilla and chocolate caramel(kinda) with of course the stouty flavor. Itís pretty good but not AMAZING.

Pours oily, clear, very dark brown. Creamy, tan head. Aroma has roasted malt and oak. Flavour is roasted with vanilla and bourbon notes. Sweetness giving way to bitterness and light alcohol burn towards the finish.

Bottle at home. Low but lasting creamy light brown head. Very dark red brown body. Roasted malt coffee liquorice vanilla aroma. Highly carbonated coffee liquorice vanialla flavor with a note of bourbon and a fair amount of hops bitterness. Alchol level seems just right. Very well balanced. Long finish.

Black beer with a thin beige head and a very smoky flavour. Flavour has a smoky flavour and vanilla-y malt. Light, sweet taste with a bit less body to it than I expected. Nice though.

(bottle) Black body with a big, rich brown head that diminishes and doesnít leave much lace. Aroma has dark roast, molasses, wood, and mild bourbon notes. Medium body, oily/sticky mouthfeel. Bitter, burnt roasted notes in the flavor, molasses, wood, ash.

Good stout with a slight taste of wood. Beautiful foam. easy creamy roasted coffee and whiskey flavors. A little cheating that its not barrel aged.

The oak barrel taste really comes out in the aroma and the taste. The taste is light and a good staple to have around.

Deep rich looking brown stout with a dense thick head. Hard to tell as far as carbonation is concerned with the deep brown color. Very malty in aroma, smelling also sweet with a nice subtle roastiness. A smooth, rich complex flavor of sweet malt, oak pews and sutle vanilla undertones. Iím not picking up a lot in way of hops. Smooth and flavorful Very drinkable in my opinion.

Poured from bottle. Aroma of malt and licorice. Stout black with a bit of tan head. I taste toasted malt, wood, vanilla, oat, cocoa, cherry, licorice. Just slightly sweet. Earthy hops in back. Not phenomenal, but pretty good.

Bottle was expired by nearly 3 months (I misread the date), but it was still good. Pours a black color with a light off-white foam. Aroma is oak and vanilla. Flavor is oak, vanilla, and hints of wood and roasted malts. Lightly sweet. Very good. I want to try a fresh bottle.
