COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Dominion Oak Barrel Stout is rich and smooth, a draught brew so popular at our Brewup that we found a way to bottle it for a wider audience. We combine seven different malts and two hops to create a delicious stout, that we dry-hop with fresh vanilla beans and toasted oak to finish our little treasure. The result is a stout that has the bourbon barrel flavor we all enjoy, and hope you will to.

Note: made with oak chips and vanilla beans, not aged in barrels. Available bottled and draft outside of the brewpub.

The color was dark brown with a creamy, thin, off-white head. The aroma was coffee, sweet, dark roast, and butter. The flavor was coffee, rotting fruit, and butter. I’m pretty sure this was an infected batch. The palate was mildly carbonated and medium-bodied. The finish was roasty.

Bottle, poured A black color with medium head. Nice Aroma of cocoa, vanilla, coffee, smoke. Light bitter, light sweet taste. Medium bodied, creamier texture. Some cocoa and smoked flavors in this. Not as much oak barrel flavor as I remember before. An oldie but goodie. I would like to try a higher alcohol version of this.

Bottled. Poured into stout glass, dark brown color with tan head. Aroma was roasty malt, chocolate, some wood and some vanilla. Taste went down sweet and finished with some wood flavor and coffee. Nod bad!

An actual Dominion beer that I don’t want to pour down the drain. Nice dark color with a good amount of roast and caramel flavor.

On tap at Old Dominion Brew House (restaurant, not a brewpub) in Hyattsville, MD. Opaque, very deep brown with small tan head and excellent lacing. Aroma of vanilla, wood and roasted malt with a hint of coffee and chocolate. Taste of vanilla then the oak, roasted malt and toast. Medium body and above average carbonation. Oddly, the mouthfeel at the finish is a little thin. Otherwise, an excellent mouthfeel. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Rating #32 for 2012 Crisp aroma of sarsaparilla and bitter coffee beans some sweet cream. Appearance was perfect for me; opaque with a creamy 1 inch caramel head and spotty cream colored lacing. The taste was a full bodied smooth yet still crisp stout. It finishes smokey with a medium bitterness. My only critique; it was too smooth, I like my stouts with more bite.

A deep brown pour with a tan head. The aroma was woody with some nut and faint vanilla. The medium body has a creamy texture with average carbonation. It has a sweet taste with a somewhat dry, oak finish.

Tap at fireworks - not a lot of aroma on this one even after it warmed up. Pours a dark red with a white head. Taste is mild toasty bitterness. Over rated.

Stout is not my favorite type so for me to rate something this high means a lot. Good mix of sweet and smoke

Bottle. Pours a dark brown color with a French vanilla head. Nose is vanilla, light roast notes, some lactic notes. Palate is oily and slick with a light fizz. Flavors of vanilla, oak, light roast.
