3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
This beer pours jet black with a robust beige head. Some lacing is left behind as the head slowly drops. The aroma is that of dark chocolate and roasted malt, with faint vanilla notes. The flavor has roasted malts and oak, with some licorice. As the beer warms a slight smokiness comes out. The mouthfeel is smooth and creamy. Thereís a nice lingering hop bitterness, but none of the expresso astringency that one finds in some stouts. This is one goes down easily, perhaps too easily. However, at just 5.2% ABV thatís not too much of an issue.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Low oak scent and flavour, a bit watery. Slight sweetness up front. Not a lot of hops or bitter, but still a nice velvet coating and a thick enough to a be a decent style for the beer. Bottle

2.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 9/20
Bottle thanks to Klimaet. Pours a dark brown, almost black. Clear with a fizzy, tan head. Aroma has chocolate malts, vanilla, roasted malts, light oak, some toffee. Taste is watery, sweet, milk chcolate, light artificial vanilla and a tiny roasty bitter finish. Watery body and a rather fizzy carbonation. Tastes like cheapness...

Pours a dark brown with a fairly creamy off white head which lingers.....aroma of chocolate, touch of vanilla, lactose?......taste is a bit thin, sweetness, slight vanilla, very slight wood notes....mostly just sweetness coming through. Was hoping for a bit more.

Bottle at Googies Folkestone. Black beer lasting tan head. Chocolate stout aroma. Yes so me oak comes through. Not much vanilla. Mostly a woody flavour from the barrel . Yes some sweetness. Not overly lactose. Decent. Not amazing. Too cold and fizzy ok.
