COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This rich, red ale is made in the American Pale Ale style. It has a strong hop character, medium body, dry finish, and floral hop aroma. We use pale Two-Row Brewer’s malt, Caramel 80 and 40 Lovibond malt, and Munich malt. For bittering and aroma Willamette, Cascade, and Tettnang hops are used in the kettle and as dry hopping in the fermenter.

UPDATED: AUG 24, 2004 The aroma is very hoppy and sweet. The color is amber and it has a fine head. The flavor is sweet malty giving way to a slight bitterness. An OK beer - but no as good as I expected.

Copper colored with a fair sized head. Laid back aroma that was a bit spicy and hoppy. Taste also displayed a dry and spicy style that was offset by some good malt backbone. Malt was also apparant in the finish.

Pours a nice brown with a puffy white head. Nose is malt with some hop character and a slightly metallic tinge. The tongue is full of malt and hops and leaves something on the tongue when finishing. Decent beer and worth trying but nothing spectacular.

Amber coloured, nice head. Hoppy aroma. The flavour is filled with floral hop. Long bitter finish (more hops). I really liked this one.

12 oz. bottle from the brewpub. Freshness date of March 27, 2003. Poured out a dark amber color, some orange highlights. Aromas mostly of malts, with some hops in the background. As it warms up, the hops aromas become more prevalent. Tastes of malts, with a surprizing hops finish to it. Bitter, but not overdone. This beer is in much better condition than any other beer in a bottle I've had from this brewery. More like a Vienna than a pale ale, in my book at least.

Looks decent, sort of a thinnish coppery color. Smells fantastic, burst of fresh hops. Taste, falls a bit short. The hops overwhelm the malt, and are predominately a vegetal flavor, without enough bitterness. A slightly cooked flavor as well. I know this is typical with many Cascade heavy brews, but it just isn't a style that is to my liking. Improved and became more bitter as it warmed to room temperature.
