COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This rich, red ale is made in the American Pale Ale style. It has a strong hop character, medium body, dry finish, and floral hop aroma. We use pale Two-Row Brewer’s malt, Caramel 80 and 40 Lovibond malt, and Munich malt. For bittering and aroma Willamette, Cascade, and Tettnang hops are used in the kettle and as dry hopping in the fermenter.

12 oz. bottle from the brewpub. Freshness date of March 27, 2003. Poured out a dark amber color, some orange highlights. Aromas mostly of malts, with some hops in the background. As it warms up, the hops aromas become more prevalent. Tastes of malts, with a surprizing hops finish to it. Bitter, but not overdone. This beer is in much better condition than any other beer in a bottle I've had from this brewery. More like a Vienna than a pale ale, in my book at least.

Looks decent, sort of a thinnish coppery color. Smells fantastic, burst of fresh hops. Taste, falls a bit short. The hops overwhelm the malt, and are predominately a vegetal flavor, without enough bitterness. A slightly cooked flavor as well. I know this is typical with many Cascade heavy brews, but it just isn't a style that is to my liking. Improved and became more bitter as it warmed to room temperature.

UPDATED: APR 1, 2003 Re-Rate: Bottle - Color and aroma are very similar to the draft, but much fresher. It is better than the draft, but could use more malt. A little light in the flavor category and has a slight metallic aftertaste. Better, but not much. I just may not be much of a Pale Ale fan given my preference for much more flavorful brews. Old Rating: Draught- Sweet nose and amber color. Light malt, medium bitter and hops. I fear this may have been old beer because it wasn't that good. AR - 4, App - 3, FL - 5, Pal - 3, OV - 12

Very impressive looking copper with white head beer. I also was shocked with incredible fresh, complex aroma. Other brew masters watch and learn! What else do you want? This very aromatic brew also got nice mouthfeel. With time also gives you soft warm feel. Great Brew!

Very hoppy aroma, copper, with a medium sized vanilla head. Majestic hops flavour, fine bitterness, nice tongue tingle. A really enjoyable beer, seems like an I.P.A. Thank You Radek.

Excellent APA, copper in color, nice lacy soft white head, had a floral & citrus-like aroma, the flavors included some very nice spiciness as well as a dry & bitter mouthfeel, the aftertaste was dry & bitter as well, all-around a very nice pale ale

UPDATED: JUL 5, 2003 This is a re-rating from a beer I had on Tap at Hero's in Manassas, Virginia. I bought this in a bottle from Whole Foods in Vienna, Virginia. The colour is a little odd, darker amber and a nice white head which leaves decent lacing behing on the glasss. The aroma is almost purely hops, but that is a very good thing! The taste is pretty balanced, although a bit vinegary--even from the bottle. Good hoppyness balanced with adequate maltiness combined with decent sweetness. A pretty good pale ale, the first time I had it, it wasn't good at all...but this time in the bottle, I'm pleasantly impressed. One to pick up if you are in Washington or Virginia!

A very balanced Pale Ale. The hops do not dominate and are nicely complimented by the malt. There is a bread-like quality to this beer that is hard to explain. Somewhat nutty as well. Very drinkable. Thanks to VA Homebrewer for hooking me up.

This is a very well made pale ale. great hops on the nose and palate. And a nice balance of malt as well.
