COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This rich, red ale is made in the American Pale Ale style. It has a strong hop character, medium body, dry finish, and floral hop aroma. We use pale Two-Row Brewer’s malt, Caramel 80 and 40 Lovibond malt, and Munich malt. For bittering and aroma Willamette, Cascade, and Tettnang hops are used in the kettle and as dry hopping in the fermenter.

(Bottle) Amber with a small creamy white head. Floral, hoppy aroma with touches of toffee and butter. Nice! Flavour doesn’t live up to the aroma. Caramelly flavour with floral hops. Thin and empty palate. Medium bitter finish.

I was unsure what to expect from this Pale Ale. Cascade hops dominate the aroma, and blend well with the malitness of this APA.

Bottling date 04oct2002. Plus for label. Nice malty taste, well balanced. Surely complex. A worthy last of the session beer.

Not what I expected. If I didn’t know better, I’d think they mislabeled my bottle. Very malty (caramel and toffee) and dominated by the taste of passion fruit (I’m not even sure what this is but it describes it well in my head and that’s all that matters). I found this to be a very different Pale Ale and although I didn’t enjoy it very much, I’d recommend it to anyone looking for something a little different. Its well done, just not to my liking.

On tap at brewery: Medium amber clear colour under a pale yellow medium small lasting head. Medium intensity floral nectar watermellon and passion fruit like aroma. Medium crisp floral hoppy flavours. Smooth mellow light sweet malty and dry hoppy finish. I quite liked this one.

UPDATED: OCT 22, 2005 Pours a deep amber red with a thick, creamy off-white head. Has a ton of caramel/kilned malts in the nose with along with plenty of Casade.. Flavor has beautiful blast of toasted malt and caramel then gives way to notes of toffee, munich malt, cascade/euro hops. Moderately sweet with assertive (but not harsh) hop bitterness. Medium bodied with a smooth, creamy texture and lively carbonation. Great lacing and head retention. Although this beer has received good ratings, it kind of gets lost in the mix between the fantastic New River and Tuppers Hop Pocket Ale. Don’t pass on this one, it’s quite good.

(Draught) Pours and orange-amber body with a thin, white head. Nose and cascade flavour. Tart, dry finish. Above average.

Sweet redish pale ale. Nicely hopped but still a little weak. Didn't have the malty kick i was expecting. Good, but could be stronger.
