COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This rich, red ale is made in the American Pale Ale style. It has a strong hop character, medium body, dry finish, and floral hop aroma. We use pale Two-Row Brewer’s malt, Caramel 80 and 40 Lovibond malt, and Munich malt. For bittering and aroma Willamette, Cascade, and Tettnang hops are used in the kettle and as dry hopping in the fermenter.

Immaculate copper. Creamy, slightly rocky ivory head. Sharp, barklike toasted malt scents interwoven with pine, English toffee, and marmalade. Subtly hoppy, but remarkably earthy. Beautifully conditioned, fine-bubbled carbonation. Gorgeously nuanced with earthy malts and vanilla, which underscore the prickly bitterness and tight piney assertions. Jellied malts complements the coarser malt elements. Softly floral hop center kissed with toffee and rich Munich. Well-rounded mineral flavor with a splash of their hallmark buttery yeast character. Ends persistently juicy with minty hop leaves wiping the palate clean, along with a deliciously coarse peach fuzz note and Cascades in the background complementing the subtleties of the nutty malt. Baffling complexity and balance. And thankfully, the acidity is never given a chance to detract from the hop and malt interplay, due to the thick malt body. Just another stunner from these Pale Ale gurus.

Draft @ Old Dominion, Dulles Airport. Pours a slightly hazy pale amber color with a small off-white head. Has a fruity malty hoppy aroma. Fruity malty hoppy and weak piney flavor. Has a fruity malty hoppy piney finish.

Caramel red, beige cover and sheety lacing. Aroma is very bready, sweet, hard candy, butterscotch. Taste is more metallic, some butterscotch, a nondescript bitter, pretty meh.

Bottle: Poured an amber color with a nice amount of head. The aroma was malty and slight hops. The flavor was sweet malts, hint of malts, and caramel. Overall, a decent brew.

12oz bottle @ 1st Annual RocketCity Brewfest, Huntsville, AL. Orange color. watery body. Boring except for the nice hop bitterness. It is a Hop Tea, not a Beer. 08 may 09

From a 12 oz. botltle. Pours a dark amber color. Light head. Aroma is sweet, almost reminds me of butter toffee. Taste is really malty, overpoweringly so. Tastes like butter. i think I may have gotten a bad bottle. This wasn’t good.

Overall Impression: A little surprised when I noticed I hadn’t rated this one. Dominion makes a pretty solid pale ale. I’ve had it out of the bottle a good number of times, do not recall ever consuming on tap, but I may have. Solid, well balanced, and easily drinkable brew.

Tap at the Dulles location. Pours a rich reddish copper with a foamy off-white head. Aroma of citric hop. Flavor is lush floral and citrus hop over a decent malt backbone. Rather more ESB than APA. Medium body with near creamy carbonation. Not real bitter, but bitter enough. Pretty well balanced. Medium levels of bitter persist through the finish. Gets a bit astringent. Overall impression of lushness.

On tap at "brewhouse" in Dulles airport. Really nice floral aromas and slightly toasted malts here, good to smell. Full mouth flavor here with differing levels and a certain amount of complexity. Buttery fruited notes are balanced nicely by a sturdy piney hops presence and a buoyant floral touch. Easy to drink and very quenching. Very good. Went great with a nice spicy chili.

Tap at Dullas airport. Clear amber-red with small white head and splotchy lacing. Nice sprucey hops in aroma. Nice crispness. Finishes clean. Is herbal, dry, and piney with a nice malt backbone. Balanced and drinkable.
