COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This rich, red ale is made in the American Pale Ale style. It has a strong hop character, medium body, dry finish, and floral hop aroma. We use pale Two-Row Brewer’s malt, Caramel 80 and 40 Lovibond malt, and Munich malt. For bittering and aroma Willamette, Cascade, and Tettnang hops are used in the kettle and as dry hopping in the fermenter.

Pours a nice deep clear copper color and is topped by a two inch thick light tan head that is made up of largish sized bubbles. The aroma is buttery and slightly spicy from the hops that are used. Up front it is fairly clean tasting, the finish is mostly dominated by a butteryness that is most likely form diacetyl. This beer is fairly mild in the hop department.

This would be a pretty nice drinking pale ale if not for the diacetyl that comes to dominate this beer. The butter flavor is not out of control but it is just a bit too much for my liking. Though it is drinkable, and has a certain spiciness to it, which seems to be part of the hop character.

The aroma has some caramel malt and grapefruit. The color is a dark golden with nice tan head with lacing. However, there are large particular pieces floating in the beer. The flavor has some malt but primarily a hoppish bitterness.

6/3/04 bottling date. Poured copper with vey small head. Aroma of fresh grains. Taste has a sharp hop bitter bite right up front. Actually the hops over power the maltiness that I’ve become used to from Dominion beers. Slight orange and spicy taste as well. Thanks Bert (Slob) for this.

Chestnut and grapefruit aroma in excellent proportions. Hazy ochre color with a thick yellow head. Quite dry and nutty, but not strong and not very good either. It leaves a bitter waxy film that ruins it for me. How can something smell so nice and taste so bad? There must be aromatic additives.

UPDATED: APR 28, 2009 Draft. Pours a clear dark copper. Small off white head. Slight aroma of floral hops. Flavor is a bitter hop attack! After taste is dry and bitter. Not really picking up anything else. Low carbonation..

12oz bottle @ 1st Annual RocketCity Brewfest, Huntsville, AL. Orange color. watery body. Boring except for the nice hop bitterness. It is a Hop Tea, not a Beer. 08 may 09

Pours and coppery red color. I could detect no aroma at all - no hops, not malts - nada. Flavor matched the aroma - thin and weak. If seltzer were a beer - this would be it. It was crisp and dry, but damn near flavorless. Is this Budweiser’s influence showing on Dominion now that they own them??

From a 12 oz. botltle. Pours a dark amber color. Light head. Aroma is sweet, almost reminds me of butter toffee. Taste is really malty, overpoweringly so. Tastes like butter. i think I may have gotten a bad bottle. This wasn’t good.
