COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Known Vintages: 2007

The Spring Brew varies year-to-year. The back label should state what style it is, so make sure you rate the correct style!

Brewed with pilsner and wheat malt, along with Saaz and East Kent Golding hops. Authentic Belgian Ardennes yeast give it a true Belgian flavor.

Interesting. Deep gold, hazy, nice head. Aroma was spicy, with the coriander making its presence known. Flavor was an interesting mix of honey malts, grassy hay, and coriander spice. Sort of like someone took a spicy wit and mixed it with a Duvel. Not bad, and I thought the coriander made its presence known without overwhelming. Perhaps a bit dusty though.

11/10/2007: Dominion Spring Brew 2007 has a cloudy, driad apricot color (actually it’s more of a fuzzy peach color) with and active white crown/veil and moderate carbonation. The aroma has candied ginger and hints of corriander. This beer tastes like it smells along with some creamy what malt, a touch of lemon, and soft fruits. The flavor is a bit more interesting that I am able to describe that must be due to the atypical addition of cardamom. Overall it has a nice balalnce of malt, spice, and sweetness in the flavor. This beer has a smooth and nearly creamy texture due to its very fine carbonation bubbles. This beer is good and I think that it is a bit underrated.

12 fluid ounce bottle (alc 7% by Vol. / Bottling Date: 021507) from Jungle Jim’s International Market in Fairfield, Ohio. Rating #32 for this beer.

Pours a light golden color with a nice inch of white frothy head. Smell is malty with some yeasty, barnlike scents. Taste is much better. Lots of spice coming through in the flavor. This was a nice surprise and change of pace. Decent mouthfeel. Good and clean.

1st wiff is a little funky ... after it airs out for a few minutes, aroma is sweet malts and yeast, some spice .... taste is a little too sweet, but smooth .... a little bit of a waxy finish .... its OK and a local brewer, so I wouldn’t ever turn it down when it comes back around

From a twelve ounce bottle purchased for me by my girlfriend Nancy for Christmas - This brew pours a hazey golden fluid with a very fast-fading white head and a honey-like aroma. Tastewise, there’s a lot of malt body to this beer, but it is pretty one-note and simple. Still, I like it!

Poured a clear pale yellow color with a large white head. Heavy spice in the aroma. The flavor had a strong spice but balanced. Gives some warmth.

Bottle. Slightly hazy amber boy with lots of carbonation. Large rocky off-white head. Sweet highly spiced fruity aroma. Highly spiced flavor which hides any other flavors.

Pours a pretty foggy orange gold. Nose is super funk. I hadn’t read the back label yet and was already like...this is a Belgian Ale? Lots of spices on there. Unfortunately it goes too far and the spices completely wreck the whole ride. Way too overpowering. Lacks balance. Lacks anything that would make it what you want it to be. I will not be able to finish this beer. Bad, beer! Bad!!

Bottled 021507. Hazy dirty gold with a white head that disappears as fast as it appears. Nose is very coriander herbal, yeasty, some light orange and mild wheatiness. Medium bodied, a bit flat. Somewhat sweet, a bit bready. Coriander and orange, some light grassiness. This is more wit-like than Belgian ale. Like a Wittekirke mixed with a Blue Moon, plus a pils. Meh.
