Body is black and thin like a cola. Head is medium thick and white. Smells of cheese, cinnamon, hops and faint coffee…very interesting. Taste is roasted coffee, bitter-sweet chocolate. Thin feeling in mouth with average carbonation; goes down easily. Aftertaste is bitter and sour hops with hints of alcohol. Enjoyable stout with a great smell, respectable taste and pedigree from a great brewery. Definitely a noteworthy stout when considering what the state of Virginia has to offer.

Bottled. Average stout. Nothing really stout out. Tasted what it should be.

Great dark grain aroma with lots of blackberry and asphalt. Flavor of berries, some coffee. This is not a really big stout: it is dry and a bit delicate, not unlike Yards Love Stout. Extremely drinkable.

Chocolate malt aroma. Very smooth medium bodied stout. Excellent balance and chocolate, raisen, malt and slight hop.

Pours a very dark color, almost jet black but not quite. The aroma is of roasted malts with a faint burntness associated with it. Flavor is full of roasted malts with hints of chocolate and coffee. The finish is coffeeish and smooth. Medium body with low carbonation a creamy mouthfeel. Nice stout.

Dark black color. Medium head. Aroma is chocolate, coffee and roasted malts. A light to medium bodied stout. Roasted malts with chocolate and coffee flavors, a touch sweet. Spicy hops. A touch watery, but not to bad. A very drinkable stout. Mouthfeel is round. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly bitter, touch of lingering coffee.

nice stout. very dark, almost pitch black, thin head. beer has starts out with bitter roast malts but the tastes mellows as the beer warms and finishes with strong chocolate and coffee notes. soft palate but notdense enough to support the robust fl;avors of this beer.

A very excellent stout, basically black in color with a very thin grayish-tan head, lots of roasted malts in the nose as we all the flavors, the beer had some hints of coffee & dark chocolate, very dry aftertaste, a nice stout to warm up with on a cold winter's night
