CaptainCougar (5396), Rockville, Maryland, USA Mar 11, 2007 On tap at the brewpub on 7/16/06: Clear yellow golden color with a nicely-lacing thin white head. Aroma has a big Saaz hoppy character with some sweet Pilsner malt and some mild floral light fruitiness. Body starts with a viscous light malty sweetness and fresh floral Saaz hoppiness. Very nice and true to style. Ungstrup (15003), Frederiksberg, Denmark Dec 10, 2006 On tap at the brewpub, RBSG 2006. A hazy yellow beer with a thin white head. The aroma is sweet flowery combined with notes of hops. The flavor is nicely sweet with good notes of flowers and hops - the hops get more pronounced towards the end. swami (5), Maryland, USA does not count Nov 2, 2006 Draft 11/02/06 - Taken home in a growler. Imperial Pilsner style. Poured a light yellow/golden color with a creamy white head - unfiltered & slightly cloudy. A sweet floral aroma dominates this beer. Maybe some grapefruit & peach? Grassy. There is moderate up-front malt sweetness with the hop flavor/bitterness breaking through in the middle. Lingering hop bitterness dominates the finish. Sweetness comes back at the end. A little more attenuation would be nice. Hops pack a wallop. Not sure of the ABV. TheBeerLover (1019), DC Metro Area, USA Oct 24, 2006 Enjoyed this one on draught at the brewpub, and a 2 liter swing top growler to take home. The beer is is an unfiltered pils, similar to Tupper Hop Pocket Pils, and tastes very similar to that beer. This is really an imperial version of that beer, with lots of great hop aromas and bitterness, crisp pilsner malt, and some warming alcohol. This beer pours to a very hazy, pale golden color, with a soapy white head, and a moderate to soft carbonation. The nose on this beer is very fragrant, with lots of grassy/herbal hop aromas that flood the nose. The palate is firm, with lots of good pale and biscuit malt flavor, on a slick but clean palate. This beer finishes with more good crisp, pale malt flavor up front, then ends with a very herbal/spicy hop bite that lingers, with a touch of warming alcohol. A very flavorful, suped up version of Hop Pocket Pils. Imperial Hop Pocket Pils would have been a better name for this beer. wilkie (1189), Raleigh, North Carolina, USA Oct 14, 2006 Draught. Very hazy, white head, orange. Sweet malty aroma, flavor is quite crisp and bitter. A tad sweet in finish. Slight alcohol in aftertaste. BückDich (4823), McCall, Idaho, USA Oct 3, 2006 Draught at Old Dominion for breakfast - RBSG DC 06
Golden clear color, thin head and lacing. Nose of citrusy, cat and fruity hops. The flavor is hoppy, nice fresh and grassy. Not much malt flavor, but the sweetness is balanced. Good like a san diego pale ale. The finish is fruity, good. I like the hops in this chief. Columbus? argo0 (6881), Washington DC, USA Aug 12, 2006 White head with clear straw body. Aroma is moderately sweet, floral/orange, some grapefruit. Taste is moderately sweet, grapefruit, some bread/caramel, light floral, alcohol. Full body with some stickiness and some resin.
